But I have learned my way through their system. I will be ok here.
I am coming to the conclusion that in the future it may be best to be able to defend your home/property yourself. I could either buy vast acreage and build a fortress, or buy an island that is easier to protect as the only people coming will be coming by boat...which can be defended against.
The hard part will be getting good US beef cattle onto the island so I am ready for when they start making us give up meat and eat cockroaches.
*nod* Look to Catalina Island for herds of buffalo, that can work and those things are tasty as all get out. I don't know, I think Rand may have been onto something with the concept of Galt's Gulch: Keep hidden and just let the world fall apart or not as it does. I haven't given up on the world yet, but when and if I do, I hope there is a place to go other than retreating inside my mind.... |

Then we had a wrong-headed attempt to assimilate the native children into Canadian culture with our residential schools... thinking I guess that it would be better for them by "civilizing" them. That was disastrous. It was probably pretty dystopian for those children and their parents. |

Personally, I am not really patriotic -left country #1 to pursue my career dreams in US, but I am also not exactly like the nomad capitalist dude-"always go where you are treated best". There could be a balance of sorts. That said, the future is both very interesting and bewildering at the same time if all trends continue to their logical resolution. Should I go back to where I grew up, stay, or go somewhere else? Decisions, decisions. One thing is clear to me-the current quality of life (at least for me) is shitty, mostly due to covid, but also thanks to endless political bickering, politicization and overall being at each other throats in US especially (read upon an epidemic of actual fights in the airports). I am so f-ing tired of it. Just today, driving, got cut multiple times on my lane by people who are not signaling a lane change. A small thing, i know, but how did we suddenly became a nation of so many assholes? me..me...ME, always. Re politicians, if it was up to me, I would institute a 4 year maximum for any politician to serve with a nasty twist: after you served your maximum term (4years), you are busted down and can be hired ONLY at the starter job (do UBER driving or teach in a elementary school-to get your balance back). Overall, life is but a dream (that someone is dreaming). |

Hmm. Could be. It would have been nice to make a bunch on buying alts but looking back, I still don't see that there was any reason to get into most of them, especially Doge. There was no reason at all to get into them. It's not missing the gains that worrys me, and I don't care if the price of BTC goes sideways, but I resent the dominance of BTC being reduced. All these other coins are essentially centralised shit, exactly what humanity should be avoiding at all costs. Making capital gains from BTC is nice, but I realy want it to be so dominate and prolific that when governments try to fuck people over BTC is there as an immediate escape vehicle. Therefore preventing governments being able to fuck people over to begin with. |
