The fact that record inflation was announced is why the whole market is down. It is the expectation that the Fed will stop pumping bitcoin.

We all knew there was inflation, which is why everyone kept buying BTC. But now they're not able to hide it anymore.

Once they stop pumping bitcoin and then start raising rates, all markets will crash. We had the roaring 20s...what came after that?

I don't think they can switch the money printer off this time.

I call this The HoDLer's Test.

If you are not worried right now, and even make fun of it, well done, you are a seasoned, hardened, true HoDLer.

Whoever logged in to an exchange right now, with the intention to sell, don't forget your pacifier and diapers, and avoid light-colored pants. You are a sissy-ass HoDLer, soon to be parted from your corn.

Or course there will be an ATH, and sooner than some think. This is just an outlier, a glitch that will once again prove the robustness of Bitcoin.

One more obituary added. Been there, done that.

Doubt any crypto hodlers will be impressed with Musk's tweet and that includes many youngsters who are in the swap crap because BTC looks too expensive to them.
Everything is taking a dump.

To just say "Hey you can't have that, because it uses too much energy, so go back to being poor and giving banks all your money for zero percent interest" really sounds like narcissistic, hypocritical dogshit to me.

He is the same piece of shit as all the other rich elite and politicians. What ya expect? They want to keep the corrupt system running as long as they can.

That's the end of the bull market until september/october. The media will spam the sheeps for weeks with elon's tweet. In a few months the big guys have their pockets full of cheap btc and will then push the market to >100k $.

See you again at the end of this year.

In 5 days nobody will talk about this dip  Roll Eyes

Probably because we'll have seen even bigger and more catastrophic dips by then. Elon just singlehandedly dealt the death blow to bitcoin. It's 100% certain there will never be another ATH.

yeah we just dipped up to 50.51 k bro from 46.5k

looks like the < 50k bargains are gone Sad

You're right. Making money is a great feat to achieve. However I see it from a wider view. 'Some' kind of a correction was long overdue. I don't expect a quick and nice recovery. There will be blood, there was always blood. And that's nothind bad, right ? Could go down where it hurts, low 30s? high 20s? Still, a number that would never affect a bitcoin OG, however the noobs get slaughtered, rightfully so. A few more dead-cat bounces because the playing field is set. And the field showed the 40s already. Selling now would be the stupidest move, and we know it.

Not gonna argue here much more, love you anyway. Maybe I'm wrong? Anyway, I'm not trading on my speculation thought. Coins are in deepest cold storage and I'm just traveling south France while drinking red wine. Life is good.

Cheers WO crew Smiley

I couldn't agree more.

A correction was long overdue... And selling now would be stupidest move. What is important is that we will make a new low in this bull run. Bitcoin is not going to 5k anymore, like a year ago.

The last ATH (20k) is probably too low to be our floor.

Umm...what fairyland world does the electricity for a Tesla come from?

At least I don't have to follow through on buying a Tesla with bitcoin. Screw buying a car for more than $100k.

I gotta say... I respect his commitment to his ideals.  An entire army of oldschool bitcoiners were starting to replace "Wen Lambo" with "Wen Tesla", and he just told them to go fuck themselves.

I am sort of being facetious, of course.  But I will arrogantly point out that when they put Bitcoin on the site and everyone was asking "Will you be buying a Tesla now?", I held my tongue.  For lot's of reasons, no small one being it takes more than a token gesture to earn my respect.

But today proves Musk is more interested in token gestures than anything else.

I am taking him on his word, I guess...  I am not looking at this through any conspiracy theory lens.  I figure he really does miss the point of Bitcoin, like so many others...

Richest man in the world, yes.  Aspergers?  I suppose so.  Smartest man in the world?  Not by a LONGSHOT.  He's a storyteller.

And he buys his own shit.  Good for him.

My stance is: Today's move is artificial. It has nothing to do with the physics of market forces and lots to do with the quantum mechanics of a few entities interacting on a high level of power/funding.

Remember me asking "How much would it cost to take the price down to 50k?" ?
I was trying to gauge the minimum required size for an entity that could pull off something like the stunt we just saw.

Wow what a move. And of course I was buying before that ah ah. Fortunately I had decided to buy over 30 days, so I'm buying that dip and we'll see how it goes.

As for Teslas I can get a TM3 SR+ for 300€ a month no downpayment (paid by a government incentive), or 36000€ cash, including 20% VAT, for the car it is it's a bargain, I'm very tempted. Didn't consider using BTC to buy/lease it for one second, though.

Hm, that doesn't make much sense. Me thinks there is another issue going on, wonder what it is.

The solution to bitcoin using too much electricity is simple: Raise the price of electricity. Price goes up fewer people mine, network is still way way way way way over secure. The other solution is time: Another halving or two and less miners will be around. Still plenty to secure the network, and people can use it for transactions.

Yawn.

Chinese mining is done with lots of hydro isn't it ? Hydro that isn't even connected to the grid so gets wasted otherwise.

Yhea, big boy's buying cheap coins while weak hands running to the exit door. Classic move that happend many time before.

That energy FUD is going to abysmal, while more than 70% is renewable energy and is beeing used to secure the network but n00bs are not interested in security at all, that really boggles my mind.

1 year still looking good, it reached rock bottom.
