+ his advice but not a financial advice.... he summed up nicely in the last tweet

"This is nothing& should be treated as a huge buying opportunity. The macro landscape is unchanged."

How sweet...!!!

I talked to someone I got into BTC years ago today. He had a trading account with 2.3BTC, lost all of it, margin called. Lesson learned he said.

Wow. And to think that, soon, many (most?) Bitcoin HoDLer wannabes won't be able to own even 1 BTC... What a waste.

If I have to see one more Talking Head wheeled onto MSM "news" programs, saying that bitcoin "is not backed by anything" and it "uses more energy than a small country"....

It boggles the mind that so few people will bother to do even the smallest investigations sufficient to realise the fallacy of these statements. Especially so if you know you're going to be asked for your 'informed' opinion to be spewed across national TV.

It really does go to prove that Henry Ford was right about the levels of ignorance:
"It is perhaps well enough that the people of the nation do not know or understand our banking and monetary system, for if they did I believe there would be a revolution before tomorrow morning."

and Andrew Jackson:
"In this point of the case the question is distinctly presented whether the people.....are to govern through representatives chosen by their unbiased suffrages or whether the money and power of a great corporation are to be secretly exerted to influence their judgment and control their decisions."

And from Mark Twain, which currently sums up my reasoning for not engaging with such people anymore:
"Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

[stupidity of people]

The whole reaction to Covid nailed down these points for good; we are utterly lost as a species if group intelligence is the standard of measurement.

I also tend to think of Winston Churchill's famous quote in this respect:

Quote
Men occasionally stumble over the truth, but most of them pick themselves up and hurry off as if nothing had happened.

People rather stick to convenient, simple lies than handle the complex, inconvenient truth  Roll Eyes

People think there is some type of invisible safety net for every problem in life these days and that you are guaranteed to reach old age, be healthy and always be given money from the government when you struggle. Keep playing the lottery because you will probably win it one day. In fact it's best to start making plans already and we have plenty examples of people who got rich obediently playing for years. There is no need to think about the millions who never win, YOU will. Just play.
Just watch CNN / BBC for this info, wash your hands and keep 1.5 metres apart, take your covid jabs and you will just be hunky dory. Nothing will ever happen to you as long as you comply.
Oh but don't buy Bitcoin. Because Bitcoin is not backed by anything and uses more energy than a country. It is awful, don't go near it.
If you are white heterosexual male, make sure you kneel before every sporting event because you used to be such a racist and this is the only way to prove you now comply.

It almost makes you turn into an obedient alpaca all this ridiculous nonsense.

what's even more mystifying is how people will stubbornly clutch at even the most contrived, conspirational, unrealistic lies when it fits their misguided, imaginary convictions, instead of facing the simple, bare, but uncomfortable reality.

The Adam Curtis documentry "The Century of the Self" explains how its all come to pass. If anyone here hasn't watched it I highly recommend it. It basically follows the influence of Edward Bernays (author of the book "Propaganda") and the industry he helped established. The whole idea of which is to manipulate the people into doing the right things. The right things of course are decided by those who know better, you know, the well off, educated, elite types from the city.
