Am I mining Verium the right way?

Hello there.

I started solo mining Verium some days ago in an old six-core Xeon E5645.

I got arround 1700-1800 H/m with 11 threads.

However, I only mine from 10pm to 8am, when electricity is cheaper.
I still got 0,00000... and the days to find a block don't seem to get any lower.

I'm I doing something wrong? When mining solo I have to have it working 24/7, or not?

Honestly, your hashrate is very low compared to network hashrate. Solo mining is not recommended, better try pool mining.

Anyway, what's the best software and pool to mine Verium?

Seems like an interesting concept, and the CPU is a bit old, but I think it's very reasonable mining Verium.

I used to mine Monero with that CPU, but the hashrate is too low, compared with my 8 core Ryzen, and even with my dual core i7 7500U laptop.

Verium seemed like a reasonable alternative.

Check the minimum payout threshold before choosing a pool. You don't want to wait for months before receiving your first payout.

Just a quick question--I just swapped some Odroids over to Verium for a bit (don't need them for the next month so figured I'd put them to work). I have 5kh/m roughly (up to 100h/m variance) solo mining 24/7 to my wallet (on a pi). Just curious, I know how to check each individual miner, and know that it's connecting to the pi at least through the port, but is there any way to know that it's mining properly before you find a block? I've done the math and it's about a week+/block. Not looking to get rich, just learning about solo mining with this one, so if there's any way to monitor/check that'd be nice as I'd rather not waste a couple weeks before figuring out I set something up incorrectly...
