Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?)

Was looking around for this. Although when I just logged in, haven't post anything, I tried to send a PM and it said my last activity is less than 360 seconds ago. Doesn't make sense... Does sending PM count as 1 activity?

Yes and so does logging in and attempting to post. Make sure you wait the full six minutes before you try do anything and you should be fine. The time you have to wait goes down drastically the more activity you get so you don't have to bare it for long.

In the beginning you will have to wait some time to post, send pms, and other things

I think people trust the ranking system too much. Most people just look at the rank of the member and decide if they want to deal with that guy.

I don't really think it's a good idea to do that.

It will change from person to person but in general, what you said is true. I do this but I also check posts of the person I am dealing except people I know here. Trusting ranking system is good but it should have a *limit*. if it exceeds, you might fall in a trap. Nowadays, it's good to check the posts too as account sale is allowed.

I always check people's posts and whether or not their password has been recently changed I've noticed that a lot with people who all of a sudden are FUDDING or TROLLING a coin or just in general being dicks lol But I definitely think anyone who has been using BCT for a while knows better than to trust someone solely on their trust rating But definitely a very good practice to weed out good from bad is to check over people's previous posts and also see what channels they post the most in Cheers

It's at least a minimum security. Could be better for sure but it's better than nothing. When you spent hours on a forum, your don't want to get bad reputation.

No. You only have to donate 40 more to be VIP.

If I am right, coin of highest position will be shown, i.e., Administrator's reddish coin.

Does rank get updated at the same time as activity, or is there a lag?
I was under the impression that when you gather enough activity to move to a new rank, the change in rank is instantaneous.

If your post count is equal to activity, you will only receive 1 activity point. If your post count is higher than activity, you will get, post_count - activity + 1(post you made).

If Muhammed's explanation was confusing for you you will get the full 14 points with one post in the new period because your postcount is higher than your activity. If that one post gets deleted or the thread trashcanned you will lose those 14 points forever though.
