You missed the introduction of the new merit system
(an additional requirement in order to rise
to a higher rank).

You can find all relevant information in this thread:

You can make 500 high quality posts over the course of a year and you might go somewhere on here. This site is a joke now.

You can get 50 smerit with a good post and you can make 0 smerit with 50 low-medium quality posts.
It depends and in my opinion, people here (including me) prefer to give smerit to low ranks rather than the highest one. I remember declining to merit so many good posts because the OP was a legendary...and I am pretty sure many did the same.
You cannot blame the system when most of people here don't care about the forum, nor contribute to the discussions here. They are simply joining bounties and spamming bitcointalk with their plagiarised texts.

I tried to give a merit point to someone from my topic but couldn't find any button doing that. How can we make it happen?

To find out you have to be in.

Since you don't have any merit point then the button will not show up.
You need to receive 2 merit points in order to have 1 smerit to send to other people.

Also, I can not understand the way Activity counter works. I have 13 hours on forum, 41 posts made and only 28 Activity points gained. Yesterday I was getting these points almost after each post made. Always 2 points behind the posts count. But it's been already 11 posts and my Activity still remains 28
What does min(time*14, post)  mean? How is this counted? Is this a JavaScript formula LOL  Cheesy

It's a PHP function. It takes the minimum between your posts count and time*14. If 2 activity periods passed It will be like this: (2*14, 41) = min(28, 41) and It's going to take 28 as your activity.

You can only gain 14 activity per two weeks period and that's why your activity is not increasing anymore.

Good to know. Thanks. Is there a limit to the amount of posts you can post in a day?

Just found the answer. There is no limit but newbies are restricted by intervals in between posts.

For the moment there is nothing official but seeing those extra special ranks in the future, maybe with additional perks, may be possible.

Wow! Now that's some cool algebra! Thanks for the adequate and detailed answer! To bad I don't have merit points to share with you!  Undecided

Thank you for this.   This is really helpful.  I just want to ask about the duration of "activity period".

Ah! Thank you very much, this explains a lot... Is it correct that 'activity periods' are from monday to sunday, and have a two week span?

Wouldn't call it a joke 7 years ago, you are too late like most of the people here. Besides, 50 BTC is always 50 BTC but if you are converting it to fiat and comparing then it is another story.
Better to improve the quality of your future posts son or else you will stuck as junior member forever.
