I've taken the initiative to clarify the rules in regards to taxation of bitcoins currency exchange and related activities in Norway. The department of Finance has said that bitcoin is not currently regulated by any existing rules in Norway, but that any operator should be aware that they may be subject to penalties if they accomodate money laundering, regardless of the lack of regulation of bitcoin.

As for the taxation issue, me and another bitcoiner is currently preparing an official letter that will go to the department of taxation. Hopefully we will then receive a answer as to how taxation should be done (if it applies) in regards to taxation of bitcoin currency exchange in Norway.

For those interested, the discussion is in the Scandinavian sub forum of bitcointalk.org.

For serious businesses involved with bitcoins in Norway, it's important to clarify all the legalities before official business is started.
