Hi, I have a gaming pc but don't play games on it anymore so I decide to mine altcoins with it... So my question is will my PSU able to run 2 graphics card ?

I have Amd Rx470 4gb and just got rx570 4gb and is still in the box...(Got it for 350$ and was last pc)

Here's my specs:
PSU: corsair 550w
Ram: 8gb
Processor: i7-4790
HDD: 2tb

I am not gaming anymore just mining and regular pc use watching movies and youtube stuff...
So is this PSU suitable for mining with these two cards?

I have BIOS mod on rx470  and I am not going to mod my new rx570

I am new at overclocking and under clocking so here's my afterburner settings

Yes it will work fine.

You can also run even a 3rd card but you would run out of PCIe connectors.

My motherboard only got 2 pcie shots  Sad

I will built a mining rig when graphics card price will go down again.... Currently everyone selling rx570/rx580 for more $600-$700... thats crazy!! I got lucky I found small local computer shop who is selling it for normal price and it was the last piece...

That's great! Here in my country graphics cards are so expensive and hard to find at present... there's a shortage I think, so maybe it's one of the reasons why the price soars high.

I think they're right. There will a shortage of power as other hardware there (CPU, Ram, HDD) also relying on your 550 PSU. I would recommend you to use a 750w PSU or if you're planning to add additional GPUs (2 or 4 GPUs) in the future 1000w or 1500w would be a better choice.

PSU: corsair 550w
not enough better using 850 W/1000 W/1200 W.

Let's calculate:
-GPU RX470 has TDP 120 W. RX570 has TDP 120 W, total = 240 W.

-RAM , when used normal condition 2-4 W, when peak power consumption 10 W. Assume take peak power consumption 10 W.

-Processor i7-4790 has TDP 84 W

- SSD has power consumption 4 W (this case, samsung 1 TB when write random activity).

- not yet another parts not calculated.(like 2xUSB RISER ).

jillscarbrough did measure the TDP, but that's only how much the cooler must be rated to dissipate. Based on these benchmarks-
http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-radeon-rx-570-4gb,5028-15.html

The RX 470 and 570 pull 340W. Combine that with your CPU's TDP of 84W, that amounts to 424W. We haven't even took into account the RAM, HDD and risers.
These combined will go over the rated efficiency limit of your PSU, and can lead to unexpected crashes and shutdowns. I would recommend getting a 750W or higher PSU from your local market as well.

Yes, it should work. But recommended NO! This would be pushing it since you have a i7. It would work if you undervolted and underclocked the core's.

Also what is this PSU rated at?  gold ?

you need to replace psu because psu 500w is  power less to run 2vga and procesor i7, better use psu 1000w it will be more stable and if one day want to add vga, so do not have to change psu again,,good luck,,,,
