Could someone kindly tell me if an 800W PSU is enough to run 2 x 7950's?

As long as it has over 60A on the 12v rail it should be OK.  If it's a name brand like Antec, Seasonic, Corsair, OCZ, XFX, Coolermaster you should have no problem.

Yeah but that's probably for BTC mining.  If you go full throttle LTC mining and use the CPU too you'll probably pull more than 850W with 4 7950s.

I have 2 undervolted MSIs running off a low end Antec 400, but if I tried LTC mining I would be well above 500W just for those 2 cards.

For Litecoin I have two 7950s using 545w. Four would push it up to 945w.

AMD suggests a 750W for a tri-fire setup, so 800W should be more than enough if it has enough AMPs.  Check that it has a single rail also.

Let's get this misconception cleared up shall we? It's not about watts, it's about amps. Quality over quantity.

You need to clarify that this is the TOTAL system wattage consumption  Wink
