If Mark knows Mt Gox is insolvent are they not breaking the law by sending out SEPA transfers?
In my country you have to stop all payments once you know your company is insolvent so all creditors can be treated equally. Guess it could be different in Japan, but it would be pretty strange.

Rumours, rumours, rumours. Believe me, if mtgox comes to the point when it's officially insolvent, it will be all over the news. Till that point, everything is just plain speculation.

I am pointing out that where I live, if Gox is in such bad shape that it has to be obvious to Mark that they are insolvent, he is breaking the law by sending out SEPA transfers. Does anyone know if this is also the case in Japan?

Thats assuming Karples isn't already breaking a ton of laws, totally knows it, and figures- why not a few more? Especially if it means sending SEPA payments to groups that might come after him physically in the future.

Good point, however if that was the case and he just did not care about the law anymore, you would also expect him to arb like crazy between gox and the other exchanges, bringing the spread at least a bit closer than what it actually is.

This is like a great crime novel, will be very exciting to see how it plays out.

is that not their old address - possibly to stop people turning up to harass Mark , other employees.

In the Beginning there was CPU , then GPU , then FPGA then ASIC, what next I hear to ask ....

As opposed to breaking the law by locking up withdrawls while us citizens are being devoured by speculators who are able to cash out whil us citizens have their funds locked on gox? Gox is a criminal obviously should have suspended all trading operations once stopped withdrawls so people would not be cannabalized .

The smaller SEPA withdrawals <€500 seem to go through fast but I am really curious what the latest date is that someone received a larger SEPA withdrawal.
My withdrawal is from 17 Jan and still hoping that I have it by end of this month.

Good news, thanks for sharing! It confirms that waiting time for larger SEPA withdrawals is about 6 weeks.

This is really valuable information. So, the above-threshold SEPA queue is at 47 days. Should shorten a bit before stalling again at the end of January if my hunch is correct.

It will definitely shorten as lots of people have cancelled FIAT withdrawals and bought the cheap mtgox btc.

ok, when I tried to withdraw btc, they returned this fucking message:

"Transfer queue is currently not accepting more requests, please retry later"

Does that mean they are devising some fucking queuing system, first come first out and say put a total daily aggregate limit at 10btc for all users? then when we used up that limts(or Gox CLAIMS that the daily limit is used up, given no one really know the actual utilization of limit anyway) , then no one can withdraw. they are the most evil assholes in the Universe! fuck Gox.

They ARE implementing some kind of a queue according to their announcement, but no one knows how that will work, it's best not to guess.

But right now it's just a generic placeholder errormessage as withdrawals are not even enabled yet.

Let's see: Italy says now 20% tax on all inbound funds for everyone.

Yet, crypto, no such rules.

Hmm and Gox only shits fiat out in EU notes or what?

So yeah I would say it looks like the Euro fiat is also being riddled with "profits".  So long as doge is a vehicle, even for a day, it is a vehicle of a totally new kind, knowmsayin?

mtgox is in japan. going by regular days is an inaccurate count. look up a japanese calendar and count BUSINESS DAYS.
