Hi Guys.
Just inscribed myself, got goxed too... (asked withdrawal for all my fiat mid january, but it never arrived).

I don't if this has be done somewhere (tell me if so) , but I was just trying to guess how much I could get from the bankrupcy procedure...

I made a few guesses :
- All MTGOX assets are shared beetween us
- BC and fiat holders are treated equally
- MTGOX BC are just lost
- 10% of the assets go to procedure costs and people ( that what happens in france, these people pay themselves first...)

the big question is the amounts on each side :
according to the crisis draft :
-Assets : 2000 BC + 32,4 M$US
-Liabilities : 544 k BC (624 _ 80 ) + 55 M$US

and then the price of BC to balance everything is a key too (high price for BC make the hole bigger...)

With a BC price @500 $US, the assets cover about 8% of the liabilities ...
If the BC price go to 200, then we could have about 18% back .

then I saw that MTGOX still have something like 200 000 BC.
It would make about 30/ 40 % ( wich I would be happy with ! )

Well,
It s a lot of guesses, and this can take more than a year ...

what do you think ?

I am not an expert either, but I have the feeling they would divide the amount of BTCs left with the users and the same thing would happen with fiat. So I don't think they would convert the BTC into fiat. Of course, this would only happen after all the costs and first-in-line creditors get their money back.

Granted, this is pure speculation - any lawyer around here?

I suspect those who took legal action and therefore shutdown Gox and fucked us over will get first dibs.

I recall they only wanted to hear from people with $10k+ at Gox, too bad for those in countries where $1k represents life savings.

I recall it was actually GOX who fucked us over, you can't go blaming those who did something about it while others sat on their hands with their fingers up their arses.

If you're bank director, known to be regular looser of big sums in the casino, claim your bank has been robbed and your neighbour finds part of the money in your garage. You state then that you found it first and report it being found in your garage.

Which investigator believes that story? Even lets him stay bank director. I am continously surprised by the lack of any action or hearing anything from the Japanese side. Bankruptcy protection shouldn't be a free "Get out of Jail" card and "keep all you stole".

April will be the month of news for Mt.Gox

We are very close.... let's see what wil happen.

No matter of what by now they have "found" 200.000 coins as we all know...

The better they have to do is to recover the rest of them..

I wouldn't want to be in position of Mark if he doesn't.

We waited so long lets wait some more days....

My guessing already is MtGox will be up and running again, not far from now, all balances preserved, but with a lot of "measures", "to avoid a bank run" and some "we apologize"s. Shielded by the bankruptcy protection.

People will be happy to see their balance has recovered and be patient one more time (the only alternative by then). Willing to withdraw everything, of course, and will do that ASAP, but still better the full balance there than only 1% or 10% right now. "So let s wait a little more."

In the mean time, new team, new stuff... Money blocked, will start exchanging again. New people or speculators arrive. The 200 K are the gas to move the machine. Civil recovering in its course....

Slowly, old balances are withdrawed, new balances arrive, all fine again. FucKarpeles alive, guaranteed at least by the time money is blocked...

Strategy Crisis plan achieved in full.

Question is: will it keep being MtGox? Gox? Goax? ;-)

No one finds 850K BTC. Just to add some perspective this is around 7% of all bitcoins at the moment (source : https://blockchain.info/charts/total-bitcoins).

I would be pretty glad if this could happen (I got Goxxxed too) but to me its not the most probable scenario. The "Strategy Crisis plan" document was written while the situation wasnt the same. Now people (potential investors and everyone on this planet) knows a lot more about MtGox, the bitcoin ecosystem, governments stands etc.

This is what is going to happen plus they are going to recover more BTC not to say all the "lost" BTC.

My guessing is like i said beforem, the news will be soon i expect in a few days or within April.
All my BTC and Fiat (fiat came from uncompleted withdrawal) are in place.
What's next? UP and RUNNING ! This will also have a big effect on price... After Mt.Gox is up and running another thought is what happend after all?? was a good period for BIG player to enter the market? maybe....

Let's see....

The only scenario I can see where people will deposit to mtgox is if they can buy BTC for much cheaper than they can at other exchanges and get immediate 100% access to all of that BTC.

I don't see it working.  Mt.gox has committed fraud against its customers and hasn't explained things except for blaming malleability which is a lie.

I can see Karpeles eventually going to jail though.

I had 360 USD on my Mtgox account, is there any way to get that out? I'm a US resident.
