I am very curious how the missing fiat will be explained by Karpeles and Kobayashi.
AFAIK there is only some 7M$ left, out of 70M$ (or more) deposited MtGox customer funds.
Bitcoins could be hacked out of Gox, but the fiat?
I think the official number published by MtGox was around 50 million USD (among all currencies). But indeed, it is still a complete mystery as to how this money vanished. Even more of a mystery is how the narrative keeps changing. How can 200k BTC suddenly pop up? How can over 1/3rd of the USD (they used to think they had 60% of the fiat AFAIK) that was thought to be there suddenly vanish?

Edit: I went back and found a source for the figures: http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/02/28/us-bitcoin-mtgox-bankruptcy-idUSBREA1R0FX20140228

"The exchange had liabilities of 6.5 billion yen ($63.67 million), dwarfing its total assets of 3.84 billion yen, the company said"

So at first, it was over 60 million USD worth and 59% of that they were supposed to have. Now it's 7 million? Absolutely ridiculous.

I understand that the missing fiat was loaned to Tibanne and KKShade, so Karpeles can continue to screw his customers while living lavishly.
From the 'liabilities' section it's unclear to me how the deposited / missing bitcoins were appraised. Anyone can clarify this?

Has there been any meaningful updates?
Looks like this debacle is now in the back of people's minds.
I understand that Mr. Kobayashi, the court-appointed liquidation supervisor,  has sent out paper mail to all known MtGOX customers asking them to fill some claim form until some deadline.  No further news are expected until that deadline.  Perhaps someone who got said p-mail can fill in the details.
where is the claim form ?
any link to download the form ?
Cool down. Here's the current status (as of July 23rd 2014):

Quote from: Nobuaki Kobayashi
Filing of proof of bankruptcy claims
With respect to filing of proofs of bankruptcy claims in this case, since extremely
large number of creditors exist all over the world, I am considering to implement a
reasonable and smooth method of filing. For such purposes, it is necessary (i) to
sufficiently confirm, with the cooperation of professionals, the details and method
of use of data regarding the business of the bankrupt entity, which I preserved, and
(ii) to consider the situation of the investigation of the background behind the
disappearance of BTC. Accordingly, it is expected to take a few months to
determine the filing method. In light of this, although the deadline for filing the
proof of claims of bankruptcy in these bankruptcy proceedings is set as November
28, 2014, I consider it is necessary and reasonable to postpone the date to
reasonable timing.

And here is the answer to Mark of trying to sell everything and get richer..... *

http://www.coindesk.com/auction-bitcoins-com-domain-halted-us-court/

And a small thought here... the representative gave the prsmision to Mark to sell this asset of the Company?
If yes why? since the plan of buying the exhange is still open why to sell assets?HuhHuhHuhHuh

* Before start writing about that those money would go to us to pay us i mean think it again.

For example if the Coinlab enters a group of investor and reopen MtGox wouldn't be better to have all the assets? including the domain name?

I strongly believe that the ONLY way to get our BTC and Money back is by reopening MtGox and NOT by selling it half price....

Sunlot wants to buy MtGOX for 1 BTC.  Not clear whether the japanese court will agree, depends on creditors approval I suppose.

It makes absolutely no sense to me, but most creditors apparently believe that anyone who says loud "bitcoin is great" is totally honest and competent, whatever his penal record says, and they will let him take all their bitcoins without any guarantee whatsoever.

The paper (actually a post card) was sent by Tokyo District Court. Regarding Proofs of claims it says (quote):
Quote from: Tokyo District Court
2     The form, etc. for filling the proofs of claims is expected to be disclosed separately in the website hosted by bankruptcy trustee (http://www.mtgox.com/), but it is expected to need a certain period before distributing such format, etc. for filling proofs of claims.
So, you did not miss anything. The post card is completely useless and there are more information on the website already.

I am not sure what you are looking for but I've got a lot of .pdf files and some .html's of their press release stories up to the point where they shut down.

http://btccharts.everdot.org/misc/clowncar/pdf/

GREAT job i downloaded everything!!!!!! THANK YOU indeed, i am actually trying to find out the first updates they had on the website. Do you remebmer? when you could not even login to see your balance?
After realized they had erased from Internet Archive THERE MUST be a good reason in order to do that....THINK!!!
I realized that yesterday. I had registered the domain name: mtgox.gr months ago and by that time i had asked for mtgox.com to translate the whole website and also be available to Greek Market.... without even getting a reply on that... so after not doing anything with this domain i actually found what to do. www.mtgox.gr just uploaded yesterday after 3 hours of my idea. So why i am searching all these? it's obvious they want to hide something. I lost 99% in MtGox. i have all the support desk messages i want the whole world to read the truth of what happened. THEY KNEW what was going on and they kept the Site open in order to manipulate the price. So having some facts that prove this want also to find  those updates i am talking about and gather everything on mtgox.gr and my second goal is i want to try and gather some BTC or Fiat to hire a Private Investigator. Mark had enough time to come clear up to know but this can't continue!

Yes. Especially since this is a straight liquidation, not a debtor-in-possession situation.

The trustee is not doing his job if this is going on.

The Internet Archive runs about six months behind real time. That's done to reduce copyright complaints about them hosting the information of other sites. The data is not lost; it will appear in the future.
