Why do we vote people to vote for us?

Obama said he was going to remove all the troops from Afghanistan when he gets in. What happened?
He sent 30,000 more troops in the week he got in.

Trump said he was going to put Hilary in jail and drain the swamp.
He never did, and printed more fiat than any other presidents combined.

Don`t you think we should just vote on issues ourselves? Rather paying someone to be our slave master daddy?

We are the tax payers, should we not have a say where our tax money goes?
We are the law abiders, should we not have a say on the laws we must abide by?

I think this representative voting is stupid. Politicians should be replaced with software and the people should vote in decentralized voting on issues.

I like your thoughts about democracy and fully agree with you. We shouldn't take everything for granted and ask for more voting rights. The average tax payer should have a bigger say in politics and not only vote a president every 4 years. Look at Switzerland for example. There it is pretty common to ask the people and let them vote directly on important subjects. I think the politcians are just too afraid to involve people more on their rights.

Of course, there's the other kind of people who vote for us.

Project Veritas Election Fraud Sting Results In Arrest!

The arrest was announced by the Attorney General of Texas Ken Paxton on Wednesday.

In a press release, the AG's office wrote, "Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton today announced the arrest of Rachel Rodriguez for election fraud, illegal voting, unlawfully assisting people voting by mail, and unlawfully possessing an official ballot. Each charge constitutes a felony under the Texas Election Code."

Voting is like a dog selecting who takes him to do his business. A free dog does his business when nature calls and he will find the right place to do it.
If you want to do something ask neighborhood if ok and if anyone want to contribute, whichever he can time or money..
Everyone is a god, people dont know it.

Politicians should be replaced with software
And give the political power to software developers?

the people should vote in decentralized voting on issues.
Assuming that ordinary people are informed, yes, this may work to a certain extent. However, there are too many issues to be solved, and voting will slow the decision-making process.

Anyway, the concept of democracy is not that bad. We elect our representatives to deal with issues, so we don't have to solve the problems by ourselves. The problem is, not many good politicians out there.

How can someone 1000’s of kilometers away solve some problems he is not familiar with?
Needs and desires are light-years apart and the further away the lower priorities.
It is utter naive to think someone works for them, politicians solve the problems they have first and foremost, then there friends and corrupt partner. This Plandemic is a good exaple.

That's why there are branches in the government. Democracy's concept is really not bad, just the people who are being trusted to run the government.

Democracy generally means that there's a representative that will represent the people, whereas the people/citizen are still the ones in more power than the representative itself.

And as you mentioned, it is really disgusting when the representative prioritize those people he just know, when democracy talks about general public opinions.

This is a democratic republic, not a direct democracy. Voting on every single issues is way too complex, and let's be real -- do you think the general electorate actually has any clue of what they're talking about? Politicians usually listen to the experts or lobbyists who then make the decision. More efficient, more rational.

It's going to be more taxing to vote sperately on issues than the mare words seems to present it. Besides, we would always need some persons to organize and spare head these activities including the implementation of decisions and certainly, some bias would always come in along with other problems. Gradual repair of the situation or system we have at hand is the best chance to a better society we would have.

I honestly doubt the average American is informed enough to be able to effectively enact legislation that represents their best interests. In all likelihood, a system of direct democracy would see academics, intellectuals and members of the 1% leading the charge on certain issues, with the remaining population deferring to their respective ideologues.

A simple phone call with persons his/her trust or constituents would solve the issue, assumed the politician listens to the people's voice.

It is utter naive to think someone works for them, politicians solve the problems they have first and foremost, then there friends and corrupt partner. This Plandemic is a good exaple.
Yes, that's human nature. I don't believe a machine or AI can solve that problem because the creator controls it. The separation of power and checks and balances are better, assumed not all branches colluded.

a system of direct democracy would see academics, intellectuals and members of the 1% leading the charge on certain issues, with the remaining population deferring to their respective ideologues.
Sadly, education has become an effective brainwashing tool both for the left and the right. Most academics and intellectuals won't bother to study both sides of the arguments and often doing crappy research just to have supporting arguments.
