One must be out of their mind to believe bitcoin will grow or become globally recognized with a problem as debilitating as this.

Its frustrating, for sure. I, myself, am affected with 1 transaction unconfirmed for roughly 12 hours now. Not the end of the world, but frustrating. This certainly needs a definitive solution  Sad

Has anyone analysed the fee structure of the uncnfirmed transactions. Are any of them low fee spam transactions?

These kind of situation does really pisses me off since i do make on everyday transfer transactions in bitcoin and confirmation times is very very long indded specially on this kind of scenario that theres a bulk of unconfirmed tx. i dont know what would look like if there are more users engage to bitcoin.

Can only speak for myself at the moment but I'm going on 12 hours unconfirmed using a standard fee of 0.00138 BTC/kiB

It is NOT acceptable, but what shall we do, i think the devs have realized that they should do something,

but guess what, it seems they don´t care. Maby BTC was the first and original one, but wont be the one which will be used in the end ...

The amount of unconfirmed transactions is one of the biggest problems for Bitcoin in my opinion. It makes it hard top use for everyday payments. Waiting hours for a confirmation is not a feature to sell Bitcoin to new merchants or new users to buy their Starbucks Coffee.

I suspect though that a solution will need to be forced in 2017, either cores solution with SegWit wins and a second tier solution will be adopted, or BU gets a stronghold and bigger blocks are allowed.

Either way, the problem need to be solved or another player will step up and offer a more compelling solution. We might find ourselves using an altcoin instead if Bitcoin doesn't offer a working payment method for day to day transactions.

it is simple we need to upgrade. not just the block size but also a new upgrade to fight the spam attack. increasing the fees is not a solution to fight spam but a way to give more money to greedy miners.
this is obviously not all legit transactions! out of this 80K there is at least 50K spam transaction.

Has anyone analysed the fee structure of the uncnfirmed transactions. Are any of them low fee spam transactions?

the spam transactions are no longer low fee, they actually include higher fees than normal sometimes.

This may be a problem today but possibly it will no longer be a problem in the future. Even if the blocksize will not increase but if there will be additional miners and new mining technology that is a thousand times more powerful than our mining rig today the problem on block confirmation will be  just a kids problem. We dont need to worry since our technology moves faster to answer the issue that we are having today.

Is this getting higher as days go by?
This is unacceptable but I think those transaction are with lower fees.
We cant see it right? We cant judge it just like that or can rely on this numbers for which maybe are just spamming the transactions.
We know there are faucets who pays directly to btc accounts and could have some percentage there.

The number of bitcoin transactions is getting bigger and bigger and that is really frustrating ! At first i think it is just an hoax but now wow! i dont even think that it will happen. Transaction now a days is really takes a lot of time before you received it. I hope soon that it could be resolved

I have few transactions with 100 satoshi per byte fee stucked for more than hours.
Looks like half of this unconfirmed transaction are with 60-80 satoshi/byte fee. https://bitcoinfees.21.co/
So this may not be just low fee spam.

Yep, I had withdrawn some money from 2 exchanges and in both cases the fee they used was about 77 sat/byte.
I still hope to get the first confirmation in the next 1-2 hours, although the mempool is 56 MB and rising.

I my self is having a problem today, I send few satoshis to my wallet from my signature campaign, oh well, it is now almost 24 hours in the blockchain and still unconfirmed. What can I do with this, I cannot set the right amount of tx fee as the site where I am enrolled is the one dictating it and I have nothing to do about it.

With that, all I can do is to wait til the transaction is confirmed.  Smiley

sometimes I think that with increasing rate of unconfirmed transactions aso what will happen in future when people all over the world will use it like daily needs and then may be we would have to wait in such a long quee or we might have to pay huge fees so these things should be solved as soon as possible for future reliability to the currency

This is not the first time that happened often here in the blockchain, so there is no need to be angry or mad, though I know that most of us needed that money but we can't do anything about it, even if we get mad about this, this would not solve the problem, so, the right thing to do is to wait until blockchain solves this problem. Blockchain didn't want something like this to happen either. It is just because of our unrestrained population growth here in the bitcoin network.

All we have to do is to relax, and let the experts to this thing, I'm sure that BU is working on it or maybe the SEgwit. Please be patient guys. Smiley

Some of us here really don't accept it, they got irritated easily and losses the patience in waiting especially when they need the confirmation immediately. But we don't have the ability to fix it, in fact; all we need to do is to wait. Sometimes it takes time before it confirmed.

Only thing the users can do is Pay Higher Transaction Fees or use Different Coins.
