Do you think thin algo could be integrated into existing sha256d ASICs?

I seriously have no clue how an asic chip is designed, is the double sha256 so hard coded in the chip and making it completely useless even though this algo is so trivial? Or could some kind of firmware patch make a bitcoin asic compatible with this (lets say some antminer), adding an extra sha256 round?
