Hi All,

It seems like a question that was already answered somewhere, but I don't see it.  I still have coins on Polo I have not been able to withdraw because they had the wallet disabled for months and I had given up.  Is there a wallet I can use to do this?  Or can I open an account on one of the exchanges that still accept it?

Thanks!

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

Hi guys,

Just a little update. I'm still building the full blockchain, it takes a lot of time because few nodes have all the blocks, or at least from the block height I need. It is progressing faster than before (makes sense: the higher the block height, the more nodes will have it available).

I'm in contact with bittrex but, unfortunately, I still can't tell if they are going to add XCN or not. What you could do (to help with listing) is contacting them (via slack, twitter, etc.) and say you would like Cryptonite to be listed on their exchange. Mining, thus incrementing the network hashrate, will also help, as it's one of their parameters for coin evaluation.

Thanks!

Hi pallas,
So what block are you at now? I hope my node will start contributing too cuz I was using the wallet since the mid 2016 Smiley

Btw, is there any compiled CPU miner for Windows? I'd like to try one.

To all,
Guys really, dont hesitate to promote XCN and spread the word Smiley

I'm at block number 1M.

I could not found a way to make my 280x to mine xcn.
Any miner for AMD? Old claymore do not work on suprnova. Suprnova do not accept external wallet and claymore miner accept only xcn wallet.
I have 3 amd 280x that can add couple mh to the network, but i can't make them work....

Does not work on Windows 7:

Assertion failed!
Program: C:\...\cryptonite-qt.exe
File:trieview.cpp, Line 305

Expression: blockCacha.ReadBlockFromDisk(block, pindex)

More info please: did you upgrade or start from scratch? Was the data dir populated already?

Besides: as a general rule, it's wise to BACKUP YOUR PRIVATE KEYS (in some encrypted form). That way, if the wallet db gets corrupted, or is incompatible with a future release (which shouldn't in the case of XCN, but you never know), you can always import the key and get your coins.

I downloaded the wallet from Official Site, launched it (the directory created a new one), it was synchronized for a long time and closed with an error. I restarted it, it waits a bit and produces an error with the error
Assertion failed!
Program: C:\...\cryptonite-qt.exe
File:trieview.cpp, Line 305"

My debug.log https://yadi.sk/i/13lRyzzW3GXNb5

from the debug log, it looks like it found a chain in the data directory, are you sure it was empty?
also note that sync from scratch should take half an hour to a couple hours max.
try with a clean datadir or running with the /rescan option.

With a clean directory, the wallet starts, loads the blocks, then hangs on block 160 and then issues an error. All in the attached file
https://yadi.sk/d/Y-AuKoeU3GXxLv

Thank you for your analysis

Just ignore the error about block 160 and let it go.

The application throws an error and closes

Does anyone have a new wallet that works on Windows 7?

please post the last lines of debug.log

I found a solution to my problem:

Clear the data folder
Launch the cryptonite-qt.exe
We wait until the "50% done" message appears, or the synchronization will reach block 160
Close the wallet
Copy Blockchain snapshot to the datadir  from https://mega.nz/#!UMA0jIJC!G6eu_06rhizCxmRDUb4MWaBVLmq4Uklz9tZTplERb6A.
Launch the cryptonite-qt.exe, wait for the synchronization

Hi there Pallas, mining here as a hero,
Pallas any news on bt38's wallets. and or bittrex or cryptopio, or polo,

is there any news, on the fix, or snapped blockchain,

the issue guys have, only be solved with real fast internet conn's, and the fact that you should be having cpu available to let the wallet use it,.

there should be a resync added to your shortcut only 1 time! if ever error,.

cause you're blockchain is there fully, then said,
any of these logs will show node acting strange got wrong,.blocks. so to say, stalled etc, made you're wallet go pooh pooh, and states it cannot find the correct nodes, with no other good conn's.

just paste the blockchain, in there,
if wanted an empty wallet.dat. Later replace it with yours, or to be faster make a copy off course and use you'r own wallet.dat. 99.99% it works ok.

and don't ignore these errors. make sure it won't happen again by adding the fresh blockchain snapshot. after resync, if not succeeding normally., because of a bad node.!

Bogdan, amd miner only support some pools, and not solo, unless you got hacked hosts, and some pools, some offline now, but you can solo using nvidia

Win10 instead of crashing will not provide some disk read times at the time you're wallet lives and ask for peers with their blocks,
so the log happens at a time that windows 10 might get into that special state, and the files can't be dumped to drive, and so non existing failing data is been loaded from good peers acting as so called bad peers.
Don't do rescan instead use /resync and it is fast as hell with the latest wallet.
