Which hardware wallet is the most secure for my Bitcoins?

Among the different hardware wallets that are available on the market, which do you think that would be the most secure for me to be able to store my Bitcoins in it? Just asking, since I'm planning to switch from an online wallet, to a hardware wallet in order to help protect my Bitcoins from hacks or loss of funds.

Also, do you guys know if it would be possible to sign messages with a hardware wallet?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

why you prefer hardware wallets, we have blockchain wallet which is official and it does have super user experience (UX) and its super safe to use blockchain wallet and I had seen people with 100's of btc in a single wallet and hardware wallets will consume more of your valuable time.

Ledger and trezor are the best. They are very easy to use too and the developers know how to make the good product for bitcoiners and i doubt that there are someone dislike this item. You should try to use once. The prices are very cheap. It is only less than $100

In my idea about securing our bitcoin, my experience so far I was using electrum wallet, it is quite good to secure my BTC it has a key paraphrase aside from the password. Though I know there are more wallet that are also good to use like bread wallet, Mycellium, Multibit, and others.

Thanks for sharing the names of these wallets. Seems affordable enough for me to get started. I was wondering what security would these wallets have in case, you lose them? 

Also, I would like to know if it would be possible to sign messages with these wallets, the way you could do with Bitcoin Core?

Those are great wallets for convenience, but I'm looking more for added security with the use of a hardware wallet. The more affordable it would be, the better for me. Still, the wallet that you mentioned are pretty good for handling small amount of Bitcoins every day. I use Mycelium in my smartphone all the time.

I have never tested it myself but from what I've seen and read, I think It's definitely the best choice and the price is also good compared to others, It supports multiple cryptocurrencies and It's malware-proof and they are constantly updating their software for more features.

I have been using Ledger Nano for over a year now, and so far no problems at all.
Nano S for sure is much better device, and ledger is a really reputable company so i would personally pick the Nano S over Trezor any day.

Blockchain.info is not:
1. Official. Theres no official wallets.
2. Super safe.

Please don't listen to him. A paper wallet would likely suffice for your use. You can just purchase a thumbdrive, create a livecd on it and print out a paper wallet.

If you want to be safe, get an old raspberry pi and install Electrum on it. Use an online computer to create and broadcast the transaction while using the raspberry pi to sign the transaction.

For the added security level. The pincode obfuscation and the need to have a physical 2 factor authentication (the hardware wallet) to sign the transaction greatly improves the security level of your storage.

The wallet is also warns the user when unoffical firmware is loaded and does not allow write access, thus it is possible to use it on a compromised system.

Thank you for your recommendation. Seems convenient enough for me to be able to safely store Bitcoin and other altcoins too. Also, it is much cheaper than Trezor hardware wallet, so I would give this a go. Glad to know that I would be able to sign messages with it.

Thanks for your advice. I own many paper wallets myself for cold storage use, but I've been looking more into hardware wallets as they enable me to make everyday transactions (unlike paper wallets which are for one time use). The Raspberry Pi method you mentioned, looks convenient for safe storage of Bitcoin. I have a spare Pi lying around, so I will test it out with offline signing of transactions.

The forum suggest this https://bitcoin.org/en/download of course its the safest. The downside however is that it has to sync which takes almost forever. I have tried this the very first time I bought my btc and run my patience out after 2 hours. Just look at how much GB the ledger had become over the years and will continue to go bigger. I decided to try some other else like armoury and  electrum which somehow works swiftly.

I think its safer still so long as your wallet isn't compromised by someone. Just download the wallets from the legit site where it should be. If you find it on filesharing site then its something different.

It has a screen and will rival the trezor.
It just needs some more support from the bitcoin community to get it going.

Ok, I need to admit that I'm a cheapo guy, so the Nano seems the only sensed choice to me. It has got a verification system, so even without a screen you can have good security when signing transactions.

Thanks for your recommendation. This seems like the ideal choice for me, since I would only need to secure my Bitcoin, as it is the one in which I have most of my money. The price looks quite attractive and looking at its features, I'd say it’s totally worth it.

One day, I will consider to get the Nano S to be able to secure my ETH when I invest fully into it, but in the meantime, I will just stick with the Bitcoin only hardware wallet. Nevertheless, if you happen to know of any other hardware wallets worth looking into, let me know.
