We can use blockchain to improve and enhance fiat currency exchange, boost remittance, p2p internet transfers, asset and ownership registration etc.
It basically can be used everywhere where database is needed, or you are collecting data and need to be sure about its immutability.

I don`t want the blockchain to be used to improve and enchance fiat currency exchange.
This sounds ridiculous and will kill bitcoin sooner or later.The blockachain is the foundation of btc and should remain it`s foundation.There are many ways to use the blockchain for business,but we should try to keep it bitcoin related.

Bitcoin has inspired the developers worldwide for the launch of blockchain protocols, which will provide users with completely new possibilities. In 2016 it appeared some Blockchain projects which are already get popularity and acclaim among users (Steem, ZCash and ect). And if to reply on your second question I think the most popular area for Blockchain use will be financial area.

Any industry we can incorporate blockchain technology where they manage data base. Blockchain helps to store data in multiple locations (instead of one or two server), hence unauthorized data handling is prevented.

Based on this basic aspect, any we can make use of blockchain technology anywhere.

A blockchain is a collection of data of events and transactions or a ledger that
can be shared with with many parties across the network. To simply put it is
like a database. It is called a blockchain because transactions organized into
blocks chained together and updated.

Of course since bitcoin has used blockchain technology as its foundation, a lot
of industries are taking notice of it and are being experimented at various institution
globally.

I will believe if the blockchain system will have used on the financial institution. The blockchain function to removing the middle man. and it can make the financial will be running with automation in the future. I guess we will be seeing it as soon as possible. Just take a look on the hyperledger project and I think it makes sense for everyone.
