BTCE trading at $124
MtGox at $139

Why aren't people in the US making loads of money from this?

Because its not easy to get USD on BTC-e without selling BTC or facing some hefty fees and lag time moving funds through something like BitInstant.

Difference is equal to comissions which you'll pay by transfering USDs from MtGox to BTC-e

Big commissions withdrawing coins on BTC-e.  It seemed to me like it washed out the price advantage.

can you even get cash from mtgox to btc-e quickly anymore?
I thought gox discontinued redeemable codes making bitinstant useless for arbitrage between the two exchanges.

I'm sure experienced traders have been arbing these exchanges forever...
The biggest problem is counter-party risk at the dodgy exchanges.

Exactly. Since they do not accept cards, funding USD will be very time consuming.

Believe me, I hear ya.  Two days ago when I saw that 12% gap between BTC-e and Gox and decided to pull the trigger by funding BTC-e from Gox via OKpay.  Well, I'm STILL waiting for that withdrawal to occur...
