@ Citronick - Yes, you made an absolute killing on those Nanos.  The resell value is still great on them so even more $$$$..   I bet ElioVP did too, he had hundreds of those.  Regarding Vega, I have my 6th RACK dedicated to VEGA 10.  If there's anything I learned in Mining, it is to decide EARLY and just do it.   20 Rigs now is always worth more than 40 Rigs later.  We always end up buying the same cards, ie, RX480 been available since July at tiny discount vs fully ROI.   They have beta testing results using untuned drivers and are already showing over 10% faster than 1080s.

@ m1n1ngP4d4w4n - Yes, I'm having fun with my Thermal Camera per your recommendation.  I'm doing a lot of cool things with it and will share once I collect more good usage data with it.    ETH + PASCAL IS $$$$$$$$$$$$$.  My partner's entire RACK is currently dual mining ETH and PASCAL.  I only have 1 Test RIG doing that as all of my Windows RIGs are on Awesome miner and are set up as "Managed Miner".  What that means is until Awesome miner upgrade to V8 and support Dual mining, I can't make them dual mine unless I stop the service and do it manually.  I have too many rigs to be doing anything manual these days.  Not sure about NVIDIA but for AMD, Dual mining with Pascal seems very stable and excellent money.

Ahah that's what i though, keep having fun man Wink

do you have any scripting knowledge ? i wouldn't think it'll be hard to deploy a new miner across lots of rigs, or do you not wish to move out from awesome miner ?

Sadly for us nvidia users, we don't have dual mining with pascal, but there are some very good algos nowadays (sibcoin, FTC, DGB) and even zcash resurrected Smiley nice to have known your thoughts & current setup about this.

FIRST RULE OF MINING if you want to MAKE Money.  You will thank me later.

1) SAY NO TO WIFI!
2) SAY NO TO POWERLINE Adapters

Let's not have a hundred back and forth discussion on this.  I will explain why.

WIFI is good for a few rigs, maybe for Test Stations.  The more devices you add, the more it will cause interference / issues.  ...

I would largely agree. I do not use WIFI with my home rigs, it was very unstable. But I have friends hosting 1-2 rigs for me each, those are all on WIFI and they work fine most of the time.

@ ps_jb - It was absolutely insane prices when the Nano came out.  I didn't even want to touch them as 390s undervolted did well but oh boy did they make out like bandits with the low wattage and FAST roms.  They got paid many folds are still one of the fastest ZEC GPUs.

@ m1n1ngP4d4w4n - I get side track too easily to do anything these days.  I'm too lazy to even change my USB flash drives email accounts so I can do 2 manual simplemining.net groupings, 1 for RX Image and 1 for R Images until Tytanick add that to the features.  Right now main focus is to finish the build and then do the rest later.

@ KaydenC - Great find.  I saw a company selling these cases fully populated with GPUs.  I was wondering where they got them. Pretty cool,

********* BIOSTAR Z170GT7 issues update ****************

I saw the LGA 1151 Celeron 3950 being on the supported list but what I didn't know is that you may have to upgrade the BIOS on the MB for it to work.   Wasted 3hrs until Philip did some detective work to spot this.  I said no way I have 3 bad MBs as I've tried different, RAM, PSU, etc.   Pretty dumb considering this is the latest revision board so why wouldn't it have the latest BIOS to support this?  I hope that is the issue / solution.  Please share if you're seeing similar issues?

P.S I also have a MSI RX470 FAN that have broken blades, not sure how just noticed it today.  Does anyone know how to replace these?  P.M me if you do.

Taoboa is still within Alibaba Group of companies so should be legit.

I thought Taobao is for domestic sales, and Aliexpress is for rest of world.

Anyways, you should be able to buy this off Aliexpress too.

Hey KaydenC, did you reach out to them, any update?  I would be very interested in these also.

So I asked them a few things, they answered some questions then left.

1) If you want the version with 3 fans in the center section, you need to select the 3rd picture. The seller says it intakes air from the front, seems pretty constricted to me though. It comes with 6x 8cm fans and 3x 12 cm fans.

2) The first 2 pictures come with 2x 12cm fans at the front, and 4x 8cm fans in the center. No mounting holes for 12cm fans in the center. You'll need to DIY

3) I asked if the center fan section can be moved, and if HDD cages can be removed, they didn't answer. I'll ask again tomorrow.

@KaydenC - Would be good to know the dimensions from front to that center FAN support mount.  If too short, you'll be limited to very short GPUs.  Keep in mind the stock fans will be useless.  You will need fatter and stronger CFM fans in order to cool this enclosed OVEN.  You can change the cooling direction by changing the fan direction so it shouldn't matter if you mount center or front but I prefer front as I can pull cool air from the MB side, rather than push the HOT GPU air over everything.  Would be good to know total price shipped to compare against the Rosewill.  It's always good to have an alternative solution.

************  THERMAL CAMERA *********************************

Got this recommendation from m1n1ngP4d4w4n.  What a wonderful device!  I previously used the Laser Heat gun which was very cheap and great at quick spot checking but nothing like this THERMAL CAMERA!

You can quickly view all the HOTSPOTs.

This is my Mining Shed.  You can even see the Floor concrete blocks heating up from the Sun

You can see that the Patch Panel are getting very warm.

It starts to get more interesting when you add the spot temperature indicator which let's you know if it's hot enough to be of a concern or just hotter than the other areas.

Here I'm comparing the different GPU temp to find out which one is having issues.  Usually idle or failing GPU will have lower temp but not always.  I can also use the same feature to see if any of my SATA to Molex cables are of poor AWG and are overheating (ready to melt, cause fire, etc).

I also use it to look from my intake air side of the Rack to see where some of the hot air is recirculating back and how I can improve it.  As expected the top side where I have 3 U of empty space is recirculating back some heat.  The very top side where you see all red is just the temp or the Heat wall.

I use the same camera to see my hot zones in the Shed Rack to work on the flow redirection to fix it from going from bottom to higher racks.

There's a million use for this camera.  Here's another one.  Instead of pulling out a thermometer.  I can just scan my kids to see if they're ok or is having a fever.  That's how I justify the cost with the wife.  =)

I work with a home inspector - we use a flir to check for water leaks and overheating electrical. You can also pitch it as a stud finder for hanging pictures, leaks in plumbing and to check thermal efficiency around the home.

Here's a place to buy: http://www.flir-direct.com/?gclid=CP3AytuTudICFY17fgodB3MHtQ

@Citronick - I bought mine on Amazon for $200.  Price went up a bit.  I chose the SEEK over the FLIR due to the higher operating temperature which is what we need in our super HOT mining places.

This is amazing -- it feels like late 2015 all over again.

Dont miss this guys - stop fiddling with your rigs and let them work hard.
