I think not only was it necessary for Trump, but it points out that we really don't need "the mainstream media."  Even Fox News, the conservative network, tries to get you to watch their talking heads who talk about Trump.  Why not just watch Trump's 10 minute, once a week, report?

Hard to call, really.  Things are already getting just a little bit farcical and he's only been in office for 6 weeks.  Most former presidents struggled to cause as much scandal in a full term as Trump has managed to squeeze into just 40 days.  If he does somehow manage to make it to the next election, he genuinely has to be one of the luckiest people alive.  Surely he's already broken a record for the most lawsuits a president has ever been involved in?  And that's just during the time he's been in office.  Over the course of his whole life, Trump and his various failed business ventures have probably seen more court action than every current and former president of every country in the world combined.

But it's not the man that keeps surprising me. This, so far, is textbook Trump. It's his supporters. They decry the media, but have swallowed the party line without truly dissecting the rhetoric. I knew we were sheep, but I did not know we would run gleefully to slaughter.

You were telling the same even before the 2016 elections, but Trump managed to win. If Trump doesn't take in to account the illegal aliens living in the United States, then the US citizens will have no problem with it. Also, the Americans want someone who is good for their country, and not for the entire world.
