I have gotten myself a Ryzen 1800x with watercooling for my gaming PC. When i use my GPU which is a 1080ti to mine with, i also use the CPU to mine cryptonight-heavy algorithm. A 1800x gets around 180-190 hashes per second. It is a little bit low, and almost not worth it.

You should try to mine CN lite coins, it's 8 times faster (compared to heavy) on my low cache Ryzen 2400G, the result is that it's twice more profitable than mining v7 or heavy coins.

What software is better to use for mine? How many hashes can amd risen 3 1200 issue? I read that on risen 5 1600 you can get 500 hashes.

you should be able to get around 300h/s  with xmr-stak on lets say monero.

But with that hashrate alone it will take forever to get any payout for monero , try set it up for Biblepay!

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can assist me. I have a Ryzen 1600 o/c 3.85Ghz @ 1.35v... changed windows lock pages and what not with GPEdit. Power setting to high performance. But no matter what I cant seem to get above 280 - 300 CryptoNight via Nicehash (yes I know nicehash is shitty, but simple to use for the CPU) I also run 6GPU's on the pc not using nicehash, just using NH for the ryzen 1600. But I was reading people obtaining 400 - 550 ball park, but I can't get above 300? Any more tricks for tweaking?

Thank you for any information!

Are you sure its cryptonightv7 you are running and not heavy?
I got a bunch of Ryzen 5 1600 and none of them run lower then 470h/s at stock clocks no overclock.

if you are only getting 280-300 h/s then it can only be some thread count thats wrong, that the settings are @ 4 instead of 8 threads mining.

cant think of anything else.

Thank you for the information... I checked and you were right... pretty sure it was only running on 4 threads instead of 8 using NiceHash2. So I think I did the config file correctly, which did same to make a jump. I played with the clock a bit too 3.8 @ 1.28750v stable running average 67c. However the hashrate is now averaging 378 - 390... somtimes hits 400 the drops? Any more suggestions on what I could be editing next? Do you think its because I am using nicehash and not mining XMR directly myself? Also yes it is using CryptoKnightV7 I doubled checked for sure.

No, mining via Nicehash vs and XML pool shouldn't affect the hashrate.  In Nicehash what miner software is it using for mining XMR. XMR-stak or XMRig?

I have a few Ryzen rigs mining with XMR-stak/Nicehash and they are around 600 h/s with 8 threads.

Yea so you need to enable large pages it will boost your hashrate 100+ h/s

To enable the lock pages in memory option

On the Start menu, click Run. In the Open box, type gpedit.msc.

On the Local Group Policy Editor console, expand Computer Configuration, and then expand Windows Settings.

Expand Security Settings, and then expand Local Policies.

Select the User Rights Assignment folder.

The policies will be displayed in the details pane.

In the pane, double-click Lock pages in memory.

In the Local Security Setting – Lock pages in memory dialog box, click Add User or Group

If anyone get there hands on a Threadripper 2990x 32 core beast  and can run some monero testing it would be awsome!

80mb of l3 cache = 40 threads, would be intresting to see what sort of numbers is possible. Grin

Kind of disappointing actually.  I get 1450 h/s on my 1950x, and Ryzen 2nd gen has a better caching scheme (about 10% faster) than first gen Ryzen.

Yea. Maybe with some tweaking can get som higher hashes.

2500h/s @ 100w is really good.
But yeah Its really expensive.

Saw 1920x out at 300 euro. Killer Price right there!

Did you mean about the upcoming NAVI series? FYI that used the same specification with radeon VII but it less efficient than it. You can try to take a look at RTX hash rate and i thought that the new NAVI models will not have a huge gap with the hashrate that already generated by RTX series.
New series used small fabrication that already used by VII.

no matter how much hashrate this processor has, mining has long ceased to be profitable on the CPU, if only on some quantum computers to mine. a ryzen gives a little more than FX 8 series.

Nope he means CPU mining, eg CN pico / turtle, argon2id, CN lite...

If we just look at the l3 cache then we can utilize  all 16 threads for the new  Ryzen 7 3700x.

Just this is a big deal,  means we can go from  8 threads mining to all 16 threads eg we  will get "same" hashrates as the threadripper = 1khs+
Then ofcourse we have the higher clocks , the ipc  and all that good stuff. All this in a 65w TDP cpu.

Also we have monero and the RandomX  alghorithm  which sure will be inzane for these cpus.
Im hyped!

With all its advantages, the price is expected $399
Or 4,44 XMR
How long will it take him to mining so much monero?
How justified is buying processors specifically for mining?
In order to make money, it is better to buy monero or bitcoin for this money right away?
This is a more win-win option.
