The biggest issue I see with it becoming more popular.. is more trojans and attacks.. I just read a news article this morning about Trojans targetting bitcoins and stealing them.. maybe it is an old article.. since I am new to this and all .. I did recieve my first bitcoin from a bitcoin faucet ap today.. So am excited about that, and I posted some listing on forbitcoin job board.. one is to like peoples facebook fan pages and other is to invite people into my secret society.. I have more than one.. IF I can make an earning someone in my bitcoins I might be able to convince others to give it a try.. since most of who I work with are on the barely making it poor in and out of homelessness .. but yet have good computer skills.. This may help.. As far as the credit card with bitcoins go .. um do we really want the credit card companies that are treating us badly doing so with bitcoin too? .. I don't but I did stumble onto bitbills, my question is .. is that real or a scam? ... looks good if it works... - Casey

There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

The thing that really needs to be done in order to make Bitcoin viable as a currency is to make it stable in value. Currently Bitcoin is almost exclusively used for speculation because of the violent price swings.
