The last coins101 said is he doesn't see why the launch wouldn't be this month. That doesn't exclude unforeseen delays, let's just hope everything goes well.

That's definitely reassuring. I know it hasn't been THAT long, but it feels like an eternity! Smiley

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Security and quality. They don't want to commit to a date until it's ready. I imagine they aren't just releasing a Dash clone but making changes in advance. He may be implementing service node code for all I know. He has been working on service nodes for a while, he may have a beta version ready to deploy.

He also said that the blockchain is vulnerable until it is stable, it can be forked in an attack. So he doesn't want people targeting the blockchain before it's public.

I am glad they are taking precautions to prevent issues but at the same time excited to get this coin born.

For those that don't know, try using Xios or Burstcoin. Birstcoin was fractured into 6 blockchains and now Xios has forking problems. Most users have no idea to go to Discord and download a file to ban bad nodes to get them off a fork. A badly written code will destroy a coin, not just damage it.

For the last couple of months coins with masternodes was appears every day and investors are already losing interest. If the Helium started earlier, it would received real hype, but now it will be another yet coin with MN. Maybe security and quality was worth it, but maybe no.

Not transferable until HLM wallet is released. My estimate for masternode cost is probably 5 btc or more based on the emission rate and likelihood Helium will be a top 30 coin. I like predictions, lets see if im right.

I hope you're right! This project has more potential than most that came out this year. Let's hope the hype hits the fan and demand is high at launch!

Spread had problems with their lead Devs. They lacked a business sense and the project was more ideological. Plus the name absolutely sucked. Helium seems to be handled with a bit more competence and a more business-oriented strategy. Dash, Ethereum, and Helium all have that in common.

I would be very happy if your predictions came true. But do you really think that the HLM will cost $50? Maybe, but only after 3-4 years.

I also think that 5BTC to start is a lot, but to give an example Stratis masternodes cost ~125 BTC each.

It's a different market today than it was in 2014-15. When Dash was founded it was post-crash and there was little market interest. Any well planned and implemented project today gains tons of investor attention. You can count on a lot of people wanting to secure masternodes and servicenodes right away. I expect a large spike in demand, which will fuel price growth, which will gain more attention and fuel further growth. For those that still want to buy in, you'll have to pay a lot of attention to the launch. You will get a lot of short-term investors dumping in the first few hours, that will cause a short-term dip in price.

having a super expensive masternode coin with low nodes would defeat the purpose. no one would want to buy it to increase the price.

Crown have priced their servicenodes at 0.085 BTC to encourage more people to participate, perhaps HLM will consider reducing the collateral requirement in time.
