PivX is officially announced. The second layer will be service nodes. I have my own project hopes that I will present to the community to see if there is any interest. I wouldn't be the one implementing it so feasibility would be a factor. Soonish for sure, only a few issues with Bittrex wallets and reimbursement to the core team to deal with. Almost time for lunch.
Thanks, very interesting news indeed. I am becoming more hopeful about HLM again due to the renewed activity. Has the date been set by Cryptopia when trading will be available on their platform or is that still unknown?
I would expect the dev team is the one setting the launch date and communicating it to Cryptopia (after they have a working wallet and it has been scanned by 'Topia, of course). anyway, I often wonder what will happen when home miners of any flavor asic/gpu etc goes away....no more cheerleaders....only traders and Hodl'ers ...seems like will be more guiet
IDK. The hype around ICO PoS tokens is incredible currently. Grassroots developments, be it PoS or PoW, have a much harder time to capture any mind-share right now. The crypto scene is changing, whether we like it or not. Yes, it is kind of sad that home mining is going away, I feel you there. OTOH, I think PoW is a dead end unless you go to great length to fuck up ASIC mining like XMR does. I know it hurts for all you Antminer owners, but every smaller PoW coin that can be ASIC mined is susceptible to all kind of shenanigans - from 51% attacks to pools driving up the difficulty to insane heights and then switching hashing power over to another coin, leaving it with a too high confirmation time. PoW has become less about a way to secure a network and more about how to pay off an expensive mining rig.

so now we are not on X11 anymore? the new algo will be Quark? am I right I think it will be a POS only coin. If you have another suggestion, you can check the slack channel. They discussed over there and many people voted for POS. POS!?!?! well yeah, Masternodes only great our ants D3 will ROI never big tnx to the slack channel than I have a D3 that will never ROI either and I got batch 1.5. But I still voted for PivX because POS is superior to POW. It's in our best interest to have the best blockchain possible. @BonTonPlease Cryptopia will go live with HLM probably just after launch, from what I understand we are a week or two away. I've bought the D3 machines only to mine Helium, because I had a big faith now i'm mining some s*** coins from [ann] to [ann], because mining Dash is not an option to ROI... ok, nothing to do for me here, maybe I will buy some and wait a hype.... this POW & MN stories are ruining the good mining adventure

If this is going to be a PIVX based proof-of-stake coin what will the annual staking interest be?

I could be wrong, but I think Pivx does about 5%+ yearly. I know for sure it's not more than 10%, but they could always modify this when they implement it. At least 10% would be preferably IMO, but that's just me.

link on HOW to get masternodes when it happens again please (or at least the process)
Will do, it will be compatible with Dash or PivX, depending on which wins the vote. Here's my summary (with my opinion) of the current debate. There is an active vote to move to Discord, Discord is winning by a landslide. There will be a vote in the coming days, the questions are: Fork Dash, deal with patented, centralized updates that could take forever. Helium should not remain compatible with Dash long enough to even get 1 security update. Dash is POW. Or Fork PivX and get a less proven tech, but faster speeds out the door, little risk of centralization and a wallet that is more advanced. IE: Treasury proposals and Masternode voting from the wallet. My take: POW will never scale, it will always be wasteful and no one really benefits from it except ASIC manufacturers. The age old question, spend my money on mining equipment or buy coins. Well, in the history of crypto, buying coins flat out has always been the better choice. POW will attrack negative media attention for wasting electricity and is vulnerable to a 51% attack. POS solves the entry level dilemma, buying coins is mining. You PC will process transaction (or VPS) the way Satoshi Nakamoto intended. You earn rewards staking until you have enough for a Masternode, then you can move to that for more rights and income. POS is more secure against a 51% attack, you can't just control 51% of the hash power (like Bitmain could), you have to own 51% of the coins, which becomes impossible. POS has no mining pools to sabotage software upgrades, that is BTCs biggest flaw. Has the move to discord been completed?

Is it a POS only coin? I heard HLM will be mineable. I asked the question in their telegram but no one answered me. Please tell me if there is any mining pool. And I do not get the collateral for masternode. I want to mine this coin and prepared to hold for few months at least to see the outcome. Any help is much appreciated. I was waiting for the launch for a long time but their PR seems too bad. They need to work on this , for sure.

It is now based on PIVX which is PoS. There will be no mining available or pools with HLM. The cost for a masternode is set currently at 1000 HLM. As of right now the only way to get HLM will be if you held SPR at the time of the airdrop or purchase coins when it launches at cryptopia.co.nz. I'm in the same boat and will need to purchase the coins for a MN. Latest news is on slack. https://onetrollbox.slack.com They'll be moving to Discord after the launch. They're currently testing and will launch shortly.

They are so slow it is really a pain in the ass recently. We should all leave them and trade somewhere else.

Not yet. The move will be post-launch surely.

Just wondering what is the status of HLM . Is it already trading on some exchanges? What are the recent development of deploying masternodes using HLM? Hope devs would find time to answer these questions.

Pivx is getting a major wallet update first week of April with zpivx zerocoin staking. So I am guessing helium will have to wait a little to get the latest and greatest updates from pivx

Project workers are not radical, but step by step to solve every problem one by one, so I feel very good about my work attitude, so I can't be eager for success.

Now as Helium will be a PIVX clone, is 1000 per masternode rule still apply or the 10.000 coin per masternode will be imported from PIVX as well?

They will keep the 1,000 HLM per masternode. Even if we use PIVX as the codebase, many changes will be made to the code.
