Given the very dodgey launch of Dash with that bug that saw someone get some very large percentage coins (ghost mine) why has no one forked and relaunched?

There are a shitton of Dash forks.

Imo the best is PIVX (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1262920.0). Disclosure, I'm holding.

Interesting, close to top 50 market cap. Seems the total circulation is more original as well which is good since I am not a fan of this counting down with large value coins thing. See it has Zerocoin in it which is interesting since it is around the ZCoin market cap area as well

Going to be hard to get that project to rise up now that Dash has gotten into top 3 and is setting up shop already

They're not going into the exact same direction so I don't think they're direct competitors.

That is something I tend to keep away from forks with. When the original is too established it is a lost cause and I ask projects like ETC and ZCL how they will differ and grow where the original does not.

I personally got enough alts I am watching right now before investing but if I ever see this one rising I will know something about it at least

Holding Dash and PIVX. I like both, but there are issues with both. I think fundamentals with both cryptos are solid.

PIVX is really moving in its own direction though. Zerocoin protocol integration into pos/masternode structure is going to produce a tech that offers unparalleled-privacy but strong governance. Even trying to structure voting rights for stakers.

Sold some Dash today at .045. Trying to buy PIVX at 3000 SATs. We will see. Dev/community with PIVX is strong. Not as strong as Dash, but picking up.

I think the main reason none of these attempts to fork Dash and restart haven't succeeded is people don't care enough about the dodgy mine at the start of Dash. Most people would rather stick with the well known dash devs than some unheard of ones. Not to mention the evolution updates.
I think forked and cloned coins just have a bad reputation.
