We are in this current cycle, where (and when!), if bitcoin breaks above 1300$, it is very likely acceleration of growth rate and rapid achievement of new highs. I expect that before the 13th of March (the date of announcement of the decision of the SEC on Winklevoss ETH), bitcoin does not break above 1300$. Of course bitcoin can punch it on the eve of the announcement of the decision, in case if someone will have insider information about the positive decision of the SEC, but I still have opinion that this will not happen.

If the ETF isn't approved, there will be a reasonable drop as investors will fear for the near future of Bitcoin, but it will definitely not drop below around $800 because that's about where we were at before the short-term speculation about the ETF caused the surge in price.

However, China might coincidentally decide to consider changing their stance on Bitcoin when the ETF isn't approved, which could result in a bit more of a crash (granted, their influence isn't quite as strong anymore due to "The Boy Who Cried Wolf").

If it is approved I think there'll be a quick surge to around a peak of ~$1300.  After that, Bitcoin will fall a tad and then slowly continue its progress at its natural level (then around $1100) as more investors begin to take interest.  If scalability issues are sorted soon, or more investors take interest or both, Bitcoin could reach a high of a few thousand dollars in the next couple of years.

it won't be too big in my opinion, the price went down not a long time ago and I really doubt it will recover in just a few days, though it is possible to achieve new all time highs in like a few weeks from now on as the price seems to be still really strong and just needs a little push to start going to the moon again.

This is last day for voting on this poll.

Even though I can see mixed reactions on the forum about this upcoming decision, there are some activities taking place around the world.

According to the Coindesk news, One of Bitcoin's big funds is selling ahead of the ETF decision.

Quote
In an email sent today to its mailing list, Global Advisors Bitcoin Investment Fund (GABI), a Jersey-based investment vehicle that buys and sells bitcoin on behalf of investors, said it believes the market is now signaling a potential approval too strongly for its taste.

Various kind of the business have make a bet into the bitcoin etf and according to your source and it seems like a new thing for me. Various statement and various reason to supporting and ignoring the approval of bitcoin etf. but i think the price will always stable on 1100++. We are spectator.  Cheesy

Right now on the polling $1300-$1400 has gained more support from the users. I too opted for it and the reason is that the statements put forth by bitcoin enthusiasts. Everyone have stated an price increase on approval and  now the approval of bitcoin etf has been found with high probability leading for a price to move forward from the current price.

I am from the UK and buying a Bitcoin is around £1050, so do you reckon that it is still worth buying it?

And I am completely new to this but would 'plus500' be a good broker?
Wait with your decision to buy BTC. There are two likely scenarios waiting to happen:

- price of bitcoin will get lower after ETF will be disapproved - then it will be ideal moment to buy, price will recover in the future
- ETF will be accepted and then act fast and buy before price skyrockets to the moon

I voted $1,200 to $1,300

And today price is 1195$

And there is only a little time left until the decision is made!

And I think that the price will go around 1280$ until they make the decision public! And some people will sell BTC regardless of the ETF decision! Because they just want to sell, they can't understand decisions, and the price will start to go down even if the ETF has a pro BTC decision. The price will go back to 1150$ at the end of the day and then will recover to the 1200-1300 range!

Plus500 won't give you any actual BTC! That is forex trading! It all depends on what you want!

does anyone know if there is a platform where you can do Bitcoins trading in UK?

or a place to sell Bitcoins?

as I may want to sell some if they do have a sharp rise!
I guess you are in the wrong thread/section buddy. This is speculation.

Anyway, I voted for $1300-$1400 if the ETF will approved and theres a possibility to surpass that. But for me, as long as the price is not less than $1000. Thats okay for me.

Still it's worth buying BTC even the SEC disapprove. It's a future investment.

It will be around 1200-1300 on March 13th if approved

I predict the price of bitcoin could reach 1500USD on those dates. because the influence of current ETF is so big, a variety of reports ubiquitous. we must be prepared for everything that happened.

Why do you think that price can increase 300 $ in just few days? Just cause some report's and ETF influence, in my opinion that is pretty stretched. Price will stay where it is now, with 100 $ up/down fluctuations in price, but nothing big.
I agree that we need to be prepared for everything with bitcoin, but believe me when I say that goes in both ways, we need to be prepared for increase and decrease in price, bitcoin is full of surprises, if you can predict this fluctuations you can make a lot of money with bitcoin day trading.

Hello Fellas,

I would like to test community's opinion about 'SEC to make the final decision on Winklevoss Bitcoin ETF' and thus what do you think the price will be on 13th March 2017? (Approx 10 days later from today).

It would be great if you can post your opinion/stand to back your vote.

Best
Dudeperfect
I think that on march 13th which is 3 days from now the price would be 1200$-1300$. I wouldn't think that it would go up in price that fast since even if it is approved, corporations and the likes still has doubt with bitcoin so they will not buy that fast but only fraction per fraction. It might have good effect on bitcoin though since dumping it will be hard for normal people if corporations started to enter it.

hmm let me see my skill when it comes on guessing . i guess it would be 1300 to 1400 dollars in this coming march 13. but that's only my guess since there's a lot of new bitcoin users and they're investing really big and good that's why they're making bitcoin price more stable and more higher. just pray that big whales dont dump the price of bitcoin because when it happens bitcoin price will change in to very low price. maybe i will become $900 again. so just invest more bitcoin. like me I'm always investing in bitcoin everymonth.

Those investors wouldn't be buying DASH if bitcoin price won't be dropping I guess. I have to prepare myself for the possibility so I'm jumping to that train as well just in case. DASH is going to go up anyway so buying just few would still help me gain. If it really will go up to $60, I'm gonna throw a party for a friend who advised me to buy DASH Smiley   Not a huge one but for just the three of us that will sit on his porch next weekend.

Voting is closed now and the majority of the members have voted in the upward direction.  I am concluding that In both cases (either approval or disapproval) it will create a short term impact on the price but in the long run, bitcoin will remain rising.

I am posting a direct link to check the live status of this upcoming announcement: https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/batsbzx.htm
