I am totaly noob on trading but i was thinking that the odds are high at the moment that Btc may start crashing tomorrow...

I was thinking what if i short 1 Btc for example on bitmex with a leverage  20x to x50 or 100 x during the crash ?

Is it very risky ? Cause for me it looks interesting ... what are the risk?

All advises are welcome...

For example let's assume i short in at 1100 $ with a leverage x50 and a liquidation price of 1116 when crash starts ...lets say after hughe red candles ...and it it goes down under 1000 $ ...

will i be able to sell it (<1000) easily during the crash ?

Well investment is not there in a safe mode but it is always has a risk attached to it. The higher the risk the higher the income if it succeed. If you are not up to the challenge then dispose all your bitcoins today and live a normal life without bitcoin by your side. But what you think is impossible to happen as of this moment and so there  is nothing to worry.

Bitcoin is one of the most unstable and risky investment, so i think advice from regular users won't help since most of them are baseless/troll speculation Roll Eyes
However, you could get general idea if majority users say the same things.
and in the end of the day you should assess deeper as fluctuations really present and its hard to say when will be the best timing, risk is big but if you got in perfectly gain will be sweet from this trade business that you will be going in., good luck

I wouldn`t say that there`s going to be a bitcoin price crash.Maybe price correction, but not crash.
If you are a total noob on trading just stay away from trading or you will lose your money/bitcoins.
Using a leverage increases the risk a lot.
Why do you think that the odds for price going down are high?Do you have any information?

Odds are high that ETF won't pass through. As a lot of expert are predictin let's say a dump.

It is very dangerous and risky to in that moment for regular people.
I would personally do this: If I dont expect it to drop down, selling it couple of hours would be ok.

But whatever this is not suggestion. I personally think it will pass.

You say that you are already noob on trading but since you got a reference that price may start to crash tomorrow you want to test some plan of yours that you think it's really interesting.

First of all, yes it has risk since we all don't know what will be the output of the price after you did your execution. So no other advices I will say but if you really want to take the risk then go on and see how it will goes. No one can here state you the accurate thing to happen since in the first place this is how risky bitcoin trading is.

Goodluck then.

There is no crash, just a correction that could take another couple of weeks to end (including strong bounces).
And if you want to get rekt, go ahead and short with 20+ x leverage. I won't short with more than 5x.

Sometimes, if it looks too bullish, it's actually bearish

With those leverages, after you join the show, even a slight upside  movement will take you out.

On the other hand if it goes lower like you expected, you will be rich as fuck.

Yes it is risky.

This is bitcoin, an asset that is very hard to predict short term.

And on top of this fact, you are assuming that the ETF will not pass, which nobody knows. Odds means nothing, at the end of the day it all comes to how the regulators wake up that morning. So the ETF may pass and you might go broke with a short position opened. Good luck.

You essentially want to sell Bitcoin right now but you don't have any to sell.  Your thought is you will buy them in the future when they will supposedly be less expensive to close the position and make a profit.  If they are more expensive then you lose; you still have to buy them to close the position.

Suppose I want to buy Bitcoin right now; I could just buy them on the open market.  If instead I want to try to exploit your desire, we could make a deal.  I will lend you some of my Bitcoin for you to sell now.  Later you will repurchase Bitcoin to return to me.  Naturally I am going to require collateral to secure the loan.  Also, I will require interest be paid during the term of the loan.  What are you going to offer me as collateral?  What term?  What rate of interest shall we agree to?  Btw, if the exchange rate actually goes higher then along the way I will expect additional collateral be provided.  Still want to sell short?

You should have shorted the other day when the price was almost 1300$ and dropped to below 1200$. With 100X leverage, you could have been 100BTC richer less the tx fees. Or at least you could have timed it when the price was starting to tank.

Right now the price is going sideways, it could go any ways. If you predicted it wrong, you will lose all your money. It is very risky.

Leverage trading is horrible. I would never advice anyone to start with that. It's basically gambling with money you don't really have, seriously, how can that be good? People only tend to look at the benefits of things, while as always, they completely ignore the even higher risks. It's utterly insane knowing that there are exchanges that allow people to trade with 100 times leverage. I wouldn't even dare to imagine how someone must feel when opening such positions. Lips sealed

of course it was so risky, but if you're really interested, you can immediately try it. Well, a lot of people who say follow your heart it was the right path, and the experience makes people stronger.

yeah it is better to buy during a crash but buy in small quantity because you never know what is the bottom, until the bottom is reched keep buying, it's better to sell at the increase, when the price shoot fast, you have a good chance to make profit

its too risky for you as you are a totally noob and i think you don't have to risk your money, maybe you can trying with small contract first and then if you are sure that btc price will be crash then you can buy another contract. but still its too risky for you and i hope that you can think twice before you do this and only doing trade with the amount that you can do.

The odds are increasing for approval every hour that goes by with no announcement. Expect major movements to start Friday as speculators take their positions.
