Hello everyone,

I've searched around the Googles for an answer but I have yet to find one. I've just successfully built my first Mining Rig and I'm running into an issue.

I'm getting hashrates of around 100Kh/s combined. Honestly I was getting the same on my old 6570 Tongue

http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac157/paulburkett/Screenshot-Terminal.png

The strange thing is, if I'm trying to mine for Bitcoin, I am getting considerably better hashrates but I'm also getting hardware errors:

http://i895.photobucket.com/albums/ac157/paulburkett/Screenshot-Terminal-1.png

Here is the line that I'm running to mine Litecoin:

Code:
paul@thor ~/Downloads/cgminer-2.11.4-x86_64-built $ export DISPLAY=:0
paul@thor ~/Downloads/cgminer-2.11.4-x86_64-built $ export GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS=1
paul@thor ~/Downloads/cgminer-2.11.4-x86_64-built $ export GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT=100
paul@thor ~/Downloads/cgminer-2.11.4-x86_64-built $ ./cgminer --scrypt -o http://de2.suprnova.cc:8336 -u [username] -p [password] --thread-concurrency 8192 -I 9 --gpu-engine 900 --shaders 2800 -g 1 --worksize 256

I've tried removing all the extra flags and got the same poor performance.

Here are a few system stats:

Driver: Catalyst 13.1 (I've also tried 13.3 beta, and 12.10)
OS: Linux Mint 14 (64-bit MATE)

AMD Sempron 145 Sargas 2.8GHz Socket AM3 45W CPU
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1066 (PC3 8500)
CORSAIR Enthusiast Series TX850M 850W ATX12V v2.31 / EPS12V v2.92 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified
GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD3 AM3+ AMD 990FX (updated to the latest BIOS)
3 x XFX AMD Radeon HD 6770 1GB GDDR3
ROSEWILL| THOR V2 RTL Case

Is my PSU insufficient? I was thinking of just taking all but 1 card out to see how it performs.

I wonder if there's something epically wrong with my hardware or have I missed something glaringly obvious?

Please let me know, I appreciate all the help. Thanks!

Try -I 14. The intensity/reward curve is different for litecoin.

Thanks! I changed the intensity and now I'm averaging 200Kh/s. Definitely an improvement, however I should be seeing around 180kh/s per card, not combined.

I don't think you are doing anything wrong, necessarily. Are you expecting 180 per card because that's what other 6770 users are getting, or because of your performance with SHA256?  Because you can't use the latter as a benchmark. I have used 6870's and 6970's, and my results vary:
             bitcoin        litecoin
6870      300MH         300KH
6970      415MH         500KH

So I think it depends on the characteristics of the card--you can't necessarily expect exactly a 1000:1 ratio in general. It's possible that the 6770 is ill-suited for scrypt, and you are better off mining bitcoin with that card. Conversely, the 6970 is so well-suited for scrypt, I'm only mining litecoin with it.

This is what I'm basing my expectations off of

https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison

I see your point though. I might be better off returning these cards and buying a pair of 7970s.

Thanks! I did see and attempted it earlier, but I'll try when I get home from work again Smiley
