This downward move began before gox went down. Not if that were a coincidence.  Roll Eyes

false, mtgox was already down for a few minutes before bitstamp started falling, I know because I was watching

Just open bitcoinity an look at the gox chart, you'll notice a slight downward move after the pump to 128
Also there was lag before it happened.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Clearly not trending down just before gox closed... if anything moving up :\

It went from 120 to 128 to 125, last direction was down.

But anyway, this is a clear indicator that prices on gox are artificially inflated and the real market thinks the price should be much lower.

Excuse me.... what? How is the gox price going up before the crash indicate that gox is over inflated.

It isn't since this is not what I wrote.
Gox is full of suckers who are too largely invested to be able to cash out. So their only hope is to pump more cash in while the Early Adopters spoon feed them. Everybody else is content with other platforms and real price discovery.

I wish that would be the case for €, the price is going up there. It's at ~$125 (at Bitcoin Central)

Completely off topic, but do you like Bitcoin Central? From what I've seen it looks super legit, even compared to gox.

It's okay I guess, they have some lag issues too (but less than users report about Gox).
I could imagine better platforms, but it does the job and they have a bank backing them up.
The only other platform I'm trading at is bitcoin.de which is awful for selling bitcoins (buying is ok, but takes a while)

If mtgox stays down we will see double digits within an hour - if it even takes that long.

Who would "panic sell" because they get an email or message that their EX is going to be shut down for a day?
Mtgox will be down for a day? You got such an email?

Yes, please share more details about this e-mail.
