Anyone noticed that 1k+ BTC wall at $111.99 just melting away like it's nothing? Quite unusual for Bitstamp, people seem to be eager to buy again. Smiley

Wow... gone! Grin Most of that happend in the last 10 minutes.

I think Bitstamp will gain some power over the next days. Bitfinex announced they are turning away from Gox, which means more execution on Bitstamp.

On a daily basis Bitstamp's volume increased significantly.

I feel like with the ask walls that big, gox is gonna be at 150 while we are still sitting at 120...

People will remove their sell orders or set them higher if gox really shoots further to the moon. So I don't think there will be more than a $10 gap at most. Doubt it will go that fast though, there's still quite some resistance at 125 and further up.

Basically everyone goes to Bitstamp to sell because it's easy and cheap to cash out there, and now I'm out of fiat. Sad

Who are the idiots selling 1500 coins between 130 and 131 (1/3rd of avg exchange volume) on bitstamp at a 3.3% discount while gox prices trickle higher?

Even BTC-E trades at a lower discount to gox than bitstamp now.

these are mtgox coins that made their way to bitstamp because of the dwolla thing.
bitstamp isn't use to having that much coins on its order books, so now buyers there have a distinct advantage they can simply wait and see if mtgox goes higher and stays high,  and when they feel comfortable with the price they will eat that wall pretty fast.
they have already taken big chunks off this wall as mtgox has moved higher.

For (almost?) everyone moving fiat from gox to BS is neither cheap nor fast. Also gox has the much higher profile so there would still be fiat landing there to support the price.

so ppl will buy at 133 but not at 130   LOL

MtGox 127.5
Bitstamp 127.77

Since when is Mtgox cheaper than Bitstamp ? Lips sealed

(maybe an effect of the new MtGox verification process ?)

Other than the past week, it has been higher as often as it has been lower.

I would say MG was higher 70-80% of the time when there was a tradeable difference until the last week or so. At the moment we seem to be reverting to normality after an unusual period when MG was consistently and substantially higher.
