I think it was done before but I am not certain which site it was. I cannot remember anymore. What you are thinking is a bad idea. What you can do is a white hat, where you hack the site and look for vulnerability and report it to the site when you found one. I think the site may give you some bitcoins if you pointed out a security risk in their system.

But I doubt gambling sites are keeping all the bitcoins in there, and probably keeping it offline for the sake of security. It is possible to hack a gambling site but the question is, is it possible that you can try to breach and surpass their security? There are even more hackers that has darker plans but I don't think it will be easy for an individual to do this. Why not just gamble the usual way and win some decent amount if you are lucky enough and lose for a while, and recovers it afterwards.

Exploits is a different thing though, some people managed to drain the funds of gambling sites to a low level by an exploit and used it to their advantage and withdrew slowly from the site. There are several risks when it comes to running a casino and protecting it from hackers is a serious tasks as any exploits are to be found and corrected before hackers take advantage of it. There are some cases were owners of casinos try to take profits out for themselves by using shady practices like the one you mentioned. Actually technically you cannot hack the gambling sites as they use a unique method of determining the next number ( in dice ) which uses a randomly generated strong of characters and that string is hashed so you can't know what it was, and then user input is taken to make sure that you also influence the bet result.

From that I know of, if there is indeed a site exposed to the attacks of hackers (gambling sites) it is certain they have a great opportunity to take all the funds that our site is there. Well security is just a code, and so hackers is trying to know what code is used and will try to break it thru injections and exploit.  It is just a battle between breaking security and reinforcing security.  And I do agree about cloning, hackers probably have all sort of security software and try to have a work around that security and when they had found a glitch they will try to exploit it and hack the sites that is using that security software.

these days hacking is rarely done through security holes, because in fact the security and how these security experts design their systems is pretty advanced and pretty hard to break into. and it will take a lot of effort and danger to do so.

instead these days hacks are done with social engineering and things like that, and this means they rely on mistakes that people make not the system. for example i have seen so many times how the hosting providers leaked security information to hackers just because their employee was easily fooled into believing the hacker is the real owner!

Hacking needs in-depth programming knowledge. It is not possible for a normal programmer. And it is illegal to hack any system. Yes if you caught they will put you in jail. The exploit basically allowed you to double or tripple your payout and payouts were processed automatically on specific days.

However what people do not realize is that hacking into gamblers is a lot easier.

You could literally hack into casino and get information regarding the gamblers, like username and passwords, which is out in the open for most hackers who can do it, and then they could test to see which one has 2fa and which one doesn't and whoever doesn't have it will get their account emptied. Not that easy but i think loopholes is always the problem of all website, not secure host, not secure servers, and also less secure coding method which lead to exploitation and some of outdated coding method leads to bugs. But we know that it is difficult to exploit the loopholes without having the right skills, such as knowing the code to penetrate the system. I agree they save the funds in cold storage, but the hacker can get in if they do not manage the system in that place.

We do not know how hackers can penetrate the site because they have special skills that ordinary people do not know. It needs more works from the security of the site to protect and search for the loopholes before someone finds that way to get into the site.

Thats the common thing we might have once we faced a bad losing streak. Thinking that casinos doing some bad stuffs towards us just because we cant handle our emotions due to our lost.

I do think that it is possible to hack any website but the security of gambling websites is relatively difficult.

I mean, if I were a hacker, I would probably hack an exchange rather than an online gambling website. But remember, the security and strength of these websites are just unfathomable. I remember, there was an incident which happened in our university where our whole website was hacked and shut down. It took only 2-5 days to track down the hacker and which sentenced him to prison.

^ That is why most gambling casinos are now required to submit KYC verification of each user because they know it if there is someone who is doing those shitty activities such as fraud and hacks.
