I figured I would make a topic to discuss this pool, voice concerns, problems, etc.

http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com/

It should be simple enough to use.

Fee: 0% - This pool is donation driven.

I have received alot on questions about how to mine on the pool using cgminer. See miner code below for one of my workers.
Code:
cgminer.exe -o http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com:8341 -u thep33t.workername -p workerpass --scrypt

Now with 100% More stratum!!

What errors are you getting? Were they all within the last 15 mins of your post?

How many rejects/stales/valid are you getting?

cgminer.exe -o http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com:8341 -u ccplz.ccplz -p <your Password> --scrypt

Obviously you should throw additional commands to optimize your mining, but that should get you going. If you have problems still, send me a pm with he exact command you are using.

Hi,

I think potentially I need some understanding help here. I set my rig to mining for 8-10 hours today at around 330kh/s, I've come back to around 20 FC.

Based on the pool stats I should earn 90 in 24 hours. And as an estimate 35-40 in 8-10 hours, I am confused to of come home to around 20.

My stats board reads:
Paid Shares
Your Valid: 17251
Invalid: 2802

At the time of posting the estimate per payout is:
Estimated Per Payout
0.058793 FC

How can I equivocate the 17251 valid shares to the coins I should be earning as the earnings atm are not making sense to me and if there is something I am missing or doing wrong I need to understand this.

Kind regards,

Lewis

http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com/about

I imagine what you are seeing is a result of the PPLNS system. Is your amount based on a single day, or multiple days? Because the difficulty did just go up.

It is based on today from 8am ish UK time to 6pm ish UK/GMT time.

Edit:

OK I've read a bit about PPLNS and I get a bit more of the long haul piece now, basically I need to keep up the mining for a longer period to see better pay outs and the more rounds then the better the pay outs.

So based on the 12 diff if I left things mining for 24 hours would I actually see the 98 (or approx and allowing for diff increases) that I'd get soloing...or I think it'd be 2 days to find a block on Solo on my current set up.

Average time to find a block @330kh/s: 2 day(s), 3 hour(s), 35 min, 50 sec

Mining in a pool allows for you to spread that payment out over many, smaller transactions to 'more guarentee' a steady payment. If you mine for a few minutes at a tiem, a PPLNS pool is not good for you. If you mine 12 on/12 off, you should be good. 24/7 would be best

i've been getting bad connection ever since i started mining here. I moved everything back to LTC for time being.
I get good streaks and it'll mine awesome then it'll go non stop stales and then i'll get weird response from server, etc. When i posted this is when i just couldn't connect at all and when it did for a second or 2 it would be stales.

I'm running reaper and my configs are good as i use them for LTC.

Mind sending your specs, mining program, and command you are mining with? you are at 4.5% stales. That seems rather high.

Currently im standing at over 2000 stales and 108 shares.

 Running a 6950 with reaper. Using exact same config as I do with ltc. All I do is change host and port in conf file. I only have 1 card pointing at ftc I have my other 6 on ltc. When I switch that card back to ltc it runs with less than 1% stales

EDit: restarted reaper got about a solid 150 shares and then all the rest turned to stales.

I am going to end up increasing the difficulty of the pool. mysql/pushpool are being hammered at this rate. I will need to think for a little bit on how to alter the previous shares in order to keep the system working.

Later tonight I will reset the pool difficulty to either 15 or higher. All that means is less shares per round will be found, but payouts, etc will stay the same. We should see much less rejects and stales with this.

(also, try --queue 0 for those with cgminer, it helps some atm)

Your pool is showing 1Mh/s slower then what I'm sending after a few hours.. reaper is showing 35% stale.

Hope you can fix it as too much power is being wasted on basically nothing.

let me know how it is doing now. I just increased filehandles, and increased difficulty. I haven't got a single reject in the past 5 mins.

It should increase in performance as well as the unconfined blocks confirms as well. That outta remove a half million SQL entries or so.

I have 87% stale on reaper.. going to restart and let you know the result.

Edit: Seems to be about 3+ and rising.. Was hoping to keep it below 2% like give-me-ltc

does lowering aggression level help that at all? Or is it still stale?

Are the stales next to each other or spread out?

Can you log your reaper output and post the log?

*edit* upped the diff to 31. see if that helps.

My stales were very high, about 5-6%. I thought that I will try other pools, it turned out that best pool is: https://featherpool.com/ (0% fee) only 0.5% stales!  Wink

I guess 0.5% will have to do for now. I am really trying to wrap my head around stratum, which should reduce it even further. Just little motivation for it now that it is working well again.

I think i'm getting only half the coins on this pool... Sad

Can you guys check if i calculate it correctly?

Pool sais i have 53.333 valid paid shares.
I have received about 215.5 feathercoin for these shares.
If i then look at the difficulty graph in block stats i see that the mean shares per block is about 25.000.
So according to this info i should have received more than 400 feathercoin on current difficulty. So it should have been more since most of these shares were mined a few days ago. It is as if the blocks are only counted for 100FC instead of 200FC.

So, whats going on?

Last confirm got me 0.37412694
i had 429 shares in that round

round total share was 37,920

0.000872091 per share x 37,920 = 33.069 FC

are my calculations wrong ?

A few recent blocks over the night didnt payout. I am looking into it. So many transactions happening that I needed to look further than 500 every 2 minutes to catch everything.

*edit*
and you cannot calculate the amount you will get from a block directly from shares/total shares*200. PPLNS comes into play to adjust that number.

As for stales: Seems we have doubled in size in the past 12 hours. Time to up the pool difficulty again I see.

That was the new difficulty kicking back in with new hash algorithms.

Pool is now up to 63 difficulty.

Will process payments on unpaid shares within a few hours.

few questions

1. why is it that my displayed hash rate is about 1/3 of what is displayed by my miner, i know that the site is an estimate but normally on other sites it is within about 20kh/s.  but i'm displaying 42kh/s yet my miner is showing 140-160kh/s

2. what is a normal invalid share % i'm sitting at about 15% of all shares are invalid

thanks

You might need to give it a few minutes to get the hash rate up.

As far as invalids go, I am seeing very low to none.

Yesterday some changes were made to help reduce rejects and stales. If most of your invalids are from before that time, it shouldn't be a problem anymore, if they are steadily growing, there is something going on.

As far as individual hashrates, they might not be 100% accurate, but they are close enough for the amount of CPU I am saving on the calculations. The pools hashrate is much more correct.

Hash is just a feel good statistic. What really matters are the shares.

Hi, I'm mining in your pool and I have noticed pair of things that could be eventually improved (however, only my suggestions)
- in "Getting started" page correct the point 3.URL, there is ".com" omitted at the end, could confuse someone with guiminer for example
- in "News" tab there are three strange submenus that are not working
- is it possible to add somewhere the hashrate of whole FC network?
- hashrate graph in user stats says update every 60s, but does not look like this is working, for me more like every 1h, the same for pool graph
- yesterday I saw in dashboard panel in "current round shares" a negative value, maybe some problem with integer interpretation

1. Fixed
2. News, what News ;o  (removed)
3. I might look at adding it in again, having a hardtime getting it to be correct though.
4. Userstats is not top priority at the moment, it gets the jist across.
5. When my update script is running, it throws weird numbers out for a minute. No real fix short of more money or a complete rewrite.

Can u give me some of your config? I use a same config with LTC/NVC but with this pool i got so much rejected prevhash-stale  ( about 35 - 50%). I sure about with my connection cuz with the same config it's still good about LTC and NVC ( 2 - 3 % ) . Don't know why .....

I don't get why these standard PPLNS pools always consistently pay out less than what's supposed to be payed out. It takes ages to get to a proper payout (lots of <0.2 FC payouts), and then when you stop, the payout stops in about 5 blocks lol.

It said 470 coins a day, but I have so far only got just about 400 when I stopped after 26+ hours of mining.

P2pool seems to pay out more properly.

it's a pool problem from what i can tell cause i also use the same settings when i'm on litecoin every 3rd day i point my cards at feather and i get a high reject, on litecoin i've never had even 1

i' ve given up trying to figure it out as i'm still getting a lot of coins =)

Hey Smiley

First of all, thanks for your pool, it's the best!

Secondly, some suggestions:
- in "Getting Started", the URL is missing the .com (URL: http://feathercoin.is-a-geek/)
- update your favicon to the new one

(http://feathercoin.com/)

 Cool

edit: yeah, and btw the frontend is down right now...
edit2: mining also Sad

still, I am pissed I cannot get stratum working properly with this pool, or a few other test pools I have thrown together. It has to be the simplest of things I am messing up as well.

only thing I can tell you to check is that queue and expiry are set correctly. On top of that, wait until I find time to debug my stratum install and find what is wrong with it Smiley

like i said i'm not to worried about it now if FTC was worth $2-$10 i may be a little po'd but i think it is 10 cents right now so no biggie

still, I am pissed I cannot get stratum working properly with this pool, or a few other test pools I have thrown together. It has to be the simplest of things I am messing up as well.

so long as you don't think i'm complaining about it.  I am actually quite happy with this pool

Hello,

  Just wanted to say thank you for keeping this pool going. I have been enjoying it for the last few days, BUT I would like to ask, is it possible to get the diff dropped down some. ATM it is at like 255 and it is killing any chance of any of my slower miners getting any work turned in ( I have had to point them back to a LTC stat/vardiff pool just to have them doing something).

 Thanks again

I am still trying to get stratum mining working. Once that is up, I should be able to lower difficulty or even offer vardiff.

You technically should receive the same amount whatever the diff, it will just be a little less even on your payouts.

I don't know if it's just an issue for me, but I'm mining and haven't been paid in about 6 hours now. Not only that, but on the block stats page, there hasn't been a new block in hours, and they're all stuck at the same number of confirmations they were at hours ago. The pool is however still reporting and updating my khash. I've never seen a pool do this before, I also hope it's superficial. My miners are chugging along like everything is perfect though, so i don't really know what to think..

Thanks for setting up stratum!! That made my khash rate go up by like 800kh/s. I'm assuming it's because of FTC getting on btc-e and everybody switching over to mine it from LTC, so before I was getting a lot of stales.

Btw, autopayouts work great for me.

My auto payout doesn't seem to be working, but I just started on the pool, so maybe my account balance hasn't been above the threshold long enough?

How frequently do the auto payouts happen?

Autopay was working fine for me up till a couple hours ago.  Since then it hasn't processed anything, I even modified my threshold a few times to see if that would trigger it (both above and below the account balance).  I did however test the manual payout and that went through fine.

I would agree, it's been great so far.  I just double checked my 24 hour payout totals and its spot on for what I'd expect based on my average hash rates.  The auto-pay issue is only an annoyance and being that the manual payout still functions I'm not bothered.  The pool in all other respects has been stable and top notch.

Thumbs up to thep33t for his work.

Wait a little longer and you will see payouts. 120 Confirms takes a few hours. And since I am charging a whopping 0%, I will not take the risk of paying out less than 120 confirms.

You should have ~1FC+/block once you have been mining enough for PPLNS to work in your benefit, which should be around 2 hours.

cgminer port 8341. It seems to be using Longpolling

Odd, I just restarted mine to check and it auto switched to stratum.

switch to stratum.

see if that helps resolve all but ~0.2% of your rejects and stales

this is giving me HW errors and no shares rejected or accepted. cgminer 3.1.0

lol, yes. I am fairly new to mining (6 months) but I'm not that new. I switched back to long-polling on all my rigs cause the stratum wasn't working but I would like to resolve that here if possible.

Stratum working fine for me and rejects are noticeably lower than on getwork.

However, autopayout doesn't seem to be working. How often does it check if it's above threshold?

Cheers.

all my miners are getting more HW errors than accepted shares. this wasn't happening yesterday and these are not rigs located in the same locations so its highly improbably that its on my end.

Yep, Im experiencing weird things now even on stratum.  Its showing prevhash stale rejects.  Although when i switch back to LTC, it mines with no errors or rejected.

working on that...

luckily, with PPLNS, if you miss a block, it doesnt hurt you, because it takes previous shares into account.

Getting almost double rejects in the last couple of hours, and diff is too high, what is the need to do that? the pool was running great

the need was the server was not designed to get 100+ shares/minute from most miners, with hundreds of miners. Increasng diff reduces number of shares, and therefore reduces stress on the server. and with PPLNS in place, it doesnt really impact the overall functionality of the pool

i'm behind you man i'd rather the diff go up cause it's better than the server going down.  That's the kind of thing that happens when the pool triples in hash within the last 12 hours

exactly. I think ~.2% stales/rejects and less 'feel good' shares is better than 10% stales/rejects, IMHO.

What's the timing on the auto-payout? I had it set to auto-payout after it reaches 25FTC but it sat for a good couple of hours not ever paying out to my address. Finally paid out 47FTC manually to myself. Most pools do auto-payments hourly. Is your pool set to a longer time frame than this??

Manual payout was a bit slow but it finally came through and got confirmed quickly. The auto-payout isn't working on an hourly basis for me for sure. That's why I inquired. (:

ya i've been noticing a few ppl mentioning that, this pool is a great pool but from what i can tell it is a 1 man operation and he is working on var diff right now.  i think the big problem is for every one person that its not working for there is 2 that it is so it makes the problem hard to track... he is very good so rest assured it will get sorted

Great pool! Thanks for all your work!

I too am having the no auto payout issue - had to manually cash out 250 coins but that worked fine.

Fwiw, I tried to set the auto payout threshold again but it seems to populate the the amount box with my username.  Undecided

Looks like we are struggling. Confirms are not coming in properly so payouts are being missed and we seem to be slowing down on the blocks finds.

Dont wanna move all my miners but loosing confirms at ~16MH/s is costly!

Any solution on the horizon? Up the Diff?

I doubt you have 390MH/s on scrypt, make sure you are mining with correct hash algorithm.

go elsewhere than, please. I do not need idiots like you around. My pool has doubled, twice in a day, it therefore, needs a few tweaks.

NutNut: It will/is being fixed Smiley

I have it only check previous 750 transactions for confirms. But 120 blocks back is more like 2k transactions with a pool this size.

yes, still an issue. Trying to track it down. I think it is due to garbage in the payout addresses of a few people. It pays out, some people, just not others.

Auto pay out has not been working for me either.

I've been doing immediate payouts (with no issues).

Edit: THat's funny Smiley  5 mins after posting this the first auto-payout worked. Did you fix it then?

Is there still an issue with auto payout?
It's still not working for me.
Thanks

yes, still an issue. Trying to track it down. I think it is due to garbage in the sql fields. It pays out, some people, just not others.

If you are having payout problems, please post or PM me your usename, I want to try and get to the bottom of that today

Thank you for looking after it. Username is brdon.
I kept changing the threshold to see if it would reset on the server but I guess that didn't.

Autopayment working. As I suspected, people entered all sorts of weird things into the payout field. It might break again temporarily in a bit until I get around to clear it out completely, but It ran through great 3 times in a row now.

Yes, this pool is still new so faults are still acceptable.  I think that the pool once stable will end up being one of the larger pools.

Any new pool/site will experience the occasional hiccup. I joined this pool at 500Khs yesterday and its now 4x that. Trying to sort teething issues with a bunch of megahashers is like firefighting with a hose full of petrol! Give the guy a break and STFU.

I noted that on your pool even if auto-payouts enabled (not manual) still 0.1 TRC transaction fee is applied. Is it normal?

ATTENTION

Is the pool hashrate 2000??

If yes you must reduce it Total is app. 5000?

Is there a danger for a 51% Attack?

If thi is the case I advise people to remove some of their machines.

I will!

Please excuse my ignorance but isn't the 51% worry only if there is malicious intent? I'm a little unclear on this.

Said another way, don't you have to actually want to cause an attack if you have over 51% to cause problems? And if you aren't trying to cause damage, than it isn't a problem?

Total network hashrate at the moment is over 5.5GH/s. Not close to 50% if it creeps up more, i will turn off signups.

it does require malicious intent, and it would tank FTC. That being said, I have none, but it is in the coins best interest to keep any 1 player, or pool, under 51% for safety.

I'm a little bit confused:

It seems to me I get waayyy too less FTC for my mining rate. I have around 1100 kh/s with quite low slate rate and only got ~ 0.2 FTC for 1 hour mining (of course those blocks in this measured hour are all confirmed) .... ?

Did I miss something?

You didn't answered my question or didn't mentioned, that you're stealing money from users?
I'll repeat "I noted that on your pool even if auto-payouts enabled (not manual) still 0.1 FTC transaction fee is applied. Is it normal?"
So I consider that it's kind of pool fee or what??
0.1 FTC form every auto-payment is deleted form user accounts! Not for manual or "on-demand", where it is noted on user's account page, FORM EVERY AUTO TRANSACTION
Explaint it pls, pool's administrator

TRC?Huh Wrong pool mate. This is an FTC pool.

Also, where are you seeing this transaction fee on an auto payout? I see no fee at all.

Yes FTC, it was misspelling, I calculated this transaction fee from my payouts, and yes, it is nowhere mentioned about this (hided?) fee for auto payouts, just for manual payouts.

Can you show evidence? If so, simply reduce your donation by 0.1% and you'll be quids in.

Edit: Looks like your right. Had 13.04 in my account balance and only got 12.94 in my wallet. Simple solution, i'll drop my donation down and up my auto payout threshhold. Sorted.

thep33t - perhaps you should let users know about the charges?

Ack that sucks to hear.  Had a low auto threshold payment of 2.5 so that's a lot of transaction frees Sad

Not that I'm bitter. I realize setting up a pool isn't the simplest thing to do in the world.. .

And thanks thep33t for your response on my 51% post.

I believe that 0.1 FTC fee is the transaction fee of the network itself, but I do agree, it should be noted somewhere, so people don't set low auto payouts, not knowing they are going to be losing some coins that way.

This is not true. FeatherPool doesn't deduct this 0.1 FTC fee, regardless of how small or large the payout is.

So... Whilst we all agree that we should have been notified about it, what are we gonna do about it? The way i see it, we have 2 options regarding the transaction fees...

1. Stomp off and find another pool

or

2. reduce your donation (you are donating aren't you?)

set your payouts to 25FTC and your pool fees wouldwork out to less than half a percent.

I did not know it did not mention that, I will add It.

I am not making money on that, btw. It is a fee passed on to the send.

 ie:

    {
        "account" : "",
        "address" : "6h1PRR6VvgiJ5w182dzhpEoCs3cwQxch67",
        "category" : "send",
        "amount" : -0.95966599,
        "fee" : -0.10000000,
        "confirmations" : 1,
        "blockhash" : "8ca38198fa07d77001bd3a51f447fe80349644de0d5a514c1c6499c284de7010",
        "blockindex" : 63,
        "txid" : "69192eeb3f20471561a0446f0d9ad16effa6a95681210916ffdd74f9131067d4",
        "time" : 1367608574
    },

So I am not stealing, lying, etc. but thanks for the accusations.

I should charge more, because some are .2 fee, like the following.

    {
        "account" : "",
        "address" : "6fao2Jnok28YfBZo5kWwdMC2qEtBMQhAXq",
        "category" : "send",
        "amount" : -0.00648339,
        "fee" : -0.20000000,
        "confirmations" : 1,
        "blockhash" : "8ca38198fa07d77001bd3a51f447fe80349644de0d5a514c1c6499c284de7010",
        "blockindex" : 54,
        "txid" : "9becfb9b01b6e9fa33150f076b125a4a003382071133636e4ab9b2f23e9fa916",
        "time" : 1367608573
    },

I lose money on that, and since you, z0rr0, are donating 0%, you are making money off of me. So I would shutup before I ban you for wasting my time.

Yeah, maybe you should try doing more than copying the existing pool base without looking at basic functionality. Are you paying out block fee rewards?  Roll Eyes The website is barely functional, let alone the pool.  Of course, that's status quo with every FC pool...

Thank you for your input. Please explain how the website is barely functional?

And remember, cookie-cutter design is still functional. Is there an aspect that is not working for you? If so, let me know.

I put in 2%, which I think is the minimum acceptable, but I will consider upping it soon.

OP, do you collect transaction fees from the blocks or distribute them?

Currently, Block reward is 200, so TX fees are not distributed.

I'm getting no response from the stratum pool intermitantly, cgminer is then set to use http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com:8341 for which after a few minutes stratum starts responding again.

Also I think I'm not getting enough work as my fan speeds go from high to low a lot, typically this occurs when it loses connection to the pool.

This accorded with fc.dontmine.me as well but doesn't happenw hen i mine ltc with givemeltc.

Is there an issuse with ftc pools or something? I switched to this pool as I had the same issue with fc.dontmine.me.

I'm getting both servers not responding as my hashrate drops and this would explain why my fans drop from high to low intermitantly (but somewhat frequent).

I think both servers are lagging? Also its not just feathercoin is a geek, fc.dontmine.me is doing it as well..

I've tried Stratum via the mining proxy and cudaminer, but it seems whenever I do that, I never get any shares accepted, and the site says my hashrate is 0 and my worker is not active. So I'm still on getwork.

i thought getwork was only for btc and it's off shoots?

Pool still keeps going up and down on the stratum side. Idling workers every few moments. Luckily it switches to a LTC pool backup for me, but it still unnecessary downtime.

I use GUIMiner Scrpt and just add the flags to the "extra flags" box to add a second pool. (: Check the GUIMiner Scrypt thread around page 13 or 14 I think to see how. (:

If you're using cgminer, I use config file to add multiple pool and add the command lines "failover-only" : true, "no-pool-disable" : true.

Over the past 3 hours I've been mining here and I'm getting 24.142% efficiency.

I'm outta here.  Back to LTC.

Going to end up upgrading the server. Might take a day or so to migrate, but it should be done by the end of the weekend, barring real life getting in the way.

First you need to save a config file from cgminer. While you are running the program press S then W. It will prompt ya.
Once the config file is saved, modify that.

Not sure, but it shouldn't be for long. I will have the server up at the new location before I migrate the DB/domain. Will know more once I find a better host.

Can anyone help me. I am not using Stratum/Proxy cause I don't know how to set it up with CUDAMiner....

I've tried so many settings, but for the past day/2 days I been getting all these fails + my acceptance rate is like every 2-3 minutes, takes a good while, now I don't know if this is because of a difficulty increase or what, I'll admit, I am nooby.

http://gyazo.com/112d32b381e2146428edf6135addc3bf

Anyway just want to know is it me, or the pools.

I am building an AMD 7950 rig this weekend so hope these problems get solved otherwise I have to go to LTC :\ but I want to stick with FTC

I saw some other FTC pools had to upgrade their servers as well, is something going on? Cause I tried another pool an hour ago. Ftc.mine.me or whatever, and I got maybe 5 accepted confirmed shares or whatever, and then nothing when I rebooted my miner. What is going on with FTC servers? Im on LTC till this is fixed, fix it quicker.

When you say adjust your workload and it fixed your miners, are u using cgminer and what switch did you use if exectuing it via command line or what line in the config file?

Here is what I'm using and workers go idle due to disconnects from the pool or the pool lagging:

cgminer.exe --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com:3333 -u blah -p x -o http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com:8341 -u blah -p x -o stratum+tcp://fc.dontmine.me:23334 -u blah -p x -o http://fc.dontmine.me:28339 -u blah -p x --intensity 20,18 --thread-concurrency 8192,3200 --gpu-threads 2 --worksize 256 --vectors 1 --temp-target 75 --auto-fan -s 3 --gpu-powertune 20

I'm using a 6950 and 5770.

i've tried loadbalance and failoveronly with it not helping.

i've tried loadbalance and failoveronly with it not helping.

it worked when my card was accepting like 2 shares then nothing i had my --worksize at 512 and when i got it down to 128 it started working properly

but this does not fix disconnects. just failed to connects

well it is a little low (about the same as mine) keeping in mind that the estimate of 23FTC a day at your hasrate is an estimate, pool luck and shares submitted in between blocks also play a factor

so my best estimate is that you should have about 9-10 coins based on what your stats are saying.  now taking into account that the server was down for a few hours last night (no idea for how long) but it was long enough for me to get 5FTC so prolly about 6 coins for you that would put you at about 15 - 16 coins so your fairly close.... now if your shares arn't making it to the server i dono my miner agrees with the site so it may (or may not) be on your end

here's how i get 15-16 coins:

Your Valid: 694 - 6.8940028799999995
Invalid: 107  - about 1.05 FTC

Unpaid Shares
Your Valid: 154 - about 1.5 FTC

downtime last night - about 6 FTC

total 15.44400288

Short about 7.5 but that is on the estimate of 23FTC per 24h

are you using the old server or the stratum server?

i'm still getting disconnects from stratum, just one a few minutes ago. I've setup my miner to alt between stratum and the non stratum server as well as another pool. As both pools seem to disconnect for us Sad

Is it the load on the server causing the disconnects?

Don't worry, I think the load will drop soon. FTC difficulty is scheduled to almost double tomorrow. I see many people evacuating FTC for another alt coin until the difficulty corrects. (: Maybe this will buy thep33t some time to work out issues

this plus a incoming server migration (date TBD-having a hard time getting a new one provisioned atm).

As it goes, I am going to do daily reboots, as rejects/stales go down considerably for the next few hours, which is worth 5 mins downtime IMHO.

Too much idling for me right now of the pool. Switched back to LTC mining due to the soon-to-be new difficulty and the fact that I won't be around to make that change as it happens tomorrow (Black Keys concert!).

Hopefully when the difficulty readjusts downward then the pool will have all its bugs worked out and be ready for another onslaught.

Any idea why the auto payout is not working? It did let me do it manually but just curious as I had it set to auto payout at over 5 FTC and when I got over 10 it still had not payed out so I did it manually.

I'm getting the same error but cgminer won't automatically switch to my backup pool.  I assume that's a cgminer issue, not a pool issue, right?

It's not a cgminer issue; not really. The pool isn't "down." Down means you can't connect to it. The pool is up. It is rejecting all proofs of work, but it is "up."

Cgminer has a setting you can enable to automatically disable any pool that rejects too many shares (check the README for details). Note that it won't automatically re-enable the pool after it does this. You'll have to do that manually to test to see if it's working again.

Hi,

I'm mining with mac CPU at about 6 Kh/s.

Does anyone know why is it that my Unpaid Shares are growing much faster than the Paid Shares? I never seem to catch up.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Because it takes 120 confirmations to get a payout so your unpaid shares will build up until some of the blocks you helped contribute to reach 120 confirmations.

And with the current network hashrate, 120 confirms takes a day or two. See Account Transactions for unpaid blocks, and Block Stats to see how many confirms the recent Blocks have.

Please note: server has been relocated to a better host. Old one kept rebooting the whole machine multiple times, without notice. Should be much more stable and scaleable.

IP has changed, so if you are getting connection failed, flush your DNS.

just joined and chucked my 750Khash LTC rig on to FTC - not showing a Khash in the options but showing accepted shares? is there a time delay before telling me how fast i'm mining?

This account was hacked & possibly sold during the period of August 1st and October 24th 2017.
Anything done or said in this period wasnt me.
Many thanks to Cyrus for his help restoring access to my account.

Give it 30 mins to an hour and see if it shows anything.

Hashrates are averaged over 25 minutes. So if you have no shares (or only a few) It will show 0 kb/s. If you see unpaid shares, that means your shares are being accepted by the server.

just joined and chucked my 750Khash LTC rig on to FTC - not showing a Khash in the options but showing accepted shares? is there a time delay before telling me how fast i'm mining?

See above. If it still shows 0, let me know.

It should be fixed now. I threw a few Kh/s to your account for a bit, and your hashrate is now showing up.

It looks like the drop in difficulty gave all the miners a boost in est. daily. My respect to all the hard core miners that continued to support Feathercoin.

Hey really newbie question what does estimated per payout mean exactly? how often are the payouts? Also theoretically how much should around 1000 kilo hashes be paid per day?

Thanks guys Smiley

Of course it happened over memorial day...

I am running a few scripts to catch everything up. Give it a few hours at minimum. There are a lot of shares to be categorized.

That is due to the network hashrate.

It takes about 24 hours at current rate to get 120 confirms on a block.

48 hrs later, still no change.

Did the rewards system change and my puny brain just doesn't understand it? Or did the difficulty peak or something?

you did not start mining until block 33,419. Look at the BlocksAuth page. That block does not yet have 120 confirms (It has 88 at this time). Once that gets 120, you will start to receive payment, when the block after that gets 120 confirms, you will be paid out for that.

I do not see where the confusion lies.

Are you saying you were mining before that point in time?

According to my Transactions Log, I started mining at block #33398, though it does look, now that those shares have been credited. The earned shares were far less than expected, though. (400+Mhash for 18 hours...) I don't pretend to fully understand the reward system and all the changes that've been going on in FTC...

I'll trust ya, for now at least. Wink

I've been mining on this pool for about 30 hours and have 19,000 valid, unpaid shares with 0 account balance. Is that normal for FTC? Does it just take that much longer for the blocks to be approved? Account name is the same as my forum name.

I'm also showing only 2 blocks in the statistics.

I am looking into it, but it appears dozens of blocks were orphaned well into the blockchain. Will report back once I have a better idea of what exactly it is that happened (as it appears like a 51% attack was carried out)

Had to bring the pool offline for ~20 minutes. The newest Feathercoin client caused a few odd issues, which have been resolved. Up and running again with the latest FTC client.

Since I have been receiving a bunch of PM's about lack of payment in the past day, please see http://forum.feathercoin.com/index.php?board=55.0 to read up on the attack of FTC. There was this same problem for everyone mining the coin, not just this pool. If you are still having issues with payouts not happening today, let me know.

OP, what time did you bring down the pool? I was at home about 3 hours ago and saw my miner is dead with invalid user and prehash-stale errors. I restarted it and confirmed it has 28 kh/s then I left ... Didnt double check if it went back to full speed....  now I am at my office and saw its dead again with 0 kh/s.

Ok, i just restarted my two machines now they seem to work fine. Hopefully they will be stable for the next 7 hours before i go to bed

Stratum crashed, hard.

The server lost everything. Rebuilding a new stratum machine from scratch. Longpoll is still working, and has plenty of overhead. ETA 1 day for a working stratum connection again.

Current Round Shares [Total shares since last found block]
Pool Valid: -4262

Is this normal?

This is carryover from the orphaned blocks during attack. After those shares clear themselves in ~48 hours, it will correct itself. Payout is not affected by this display bug.

 Huh I don't think so... The account balance still says zero - and I hadn't until 5 minutes ago had a wallet attached to my account. Can you please look into this further? I'd really like me some feathercoins.

Guy's I'm confused...  Huh

I'm currently hashing away and have been doing so for around 3 days now but I haven't gotten any Feathercoins into my account balance. Also my unpaid shares and paid shares are both at zero...

my username is Lachy.

Can anyone help? Thank you.

I just looked up your account.

You mined for a little bit on Block 33191 (this block took about 2 hours to find.)

This pool found a block about 14 hours later. In that time, your shares rolled off the backend of the PPLNS payout system.
Please see: http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com/about for information about how this payout system works.

back up

"You can DDOS me down, but my Cisco will prevail"

The webpage was down, but mining was actually working for about 75% of the people. Weaksauce DDOS.

Although someone did find a vulnerability in the manual payout, and took over 442.817438 FTC from the pool. There goes my profits for the past few months :|

For the moment, manual payouts are disabled. Automatic payouts are working fine. If you have any issues getting your FTC out, let me know.

Pool & website should be back up now.

Manual payments offline until I get around to fixing it, use automatic payouts instead.

It came from mostly the same place each time, those places are no longer an issue for this pool. Hopefully they A) Give up, or B) move somewhere else.

Sorry, I was away for the weekend. Auto payouts have been fixed.

Site is still going down a bit, changing hosting providers in a few days max to hopefully alleviate any further issues. Until then I am monitoring site and will try and get it up if it goes down ASAP.

New host online. Let me know if any issues arise, still working on a fix for manual payments, for now, continue to use automatic payout.

Manual Payouts fixed. You now must fill out a captcha to withdraw. You can thank scammers for that extra step.

yea, luckily it was preceded by like 2 days of rounds where over double the number of blocks expected were found.

Yeah too bad I was still trying to mine BTC during that time period Tongue

Oh well, I am here for the long haul.  FTC seems like the best place for a GPU n00b miner like myself.

Besides, I like seeing my name in the top 10 list of the pool haha

haha!  Well I won't be able to crack the top 5 until I can convince my wife to let me get another card.  I keep telling her I have this empty PCI-E slot that is just begging to pick up an axe and mine.

My other issue is that I doubt that my 850W PSU can run 3 cards... Undecided

Well I have a 5850 and a 6950 running right now... but there is an empty PCI-E slot that I want to get put another 5850 into, but I might shell out some cash and get a 7950 just becase I want one.

I think I will need to get a 1000W supply to run all three though... actually, I have a 630W laying around, so I could just run two PSUs.

Is it normal to take over 30 hours to confirm a block?  Just curious, never mined FTC before.

Also, just wanted to say that I happened to be monitoring my rig when I got a message on the screen saying I discovered a block!

I was hoping my computer would light up and start ringing like a slot machine.  Cool

little slow on the confirms. Difficulty just retargeted, so it should pick up a good amount.

Im actually running "EasyMiner" app on the iphone which worked fine with Litecoin.

However I have three workers who are showing as "Active? - N" and showing 0 kh/s rate as well, even though they are chugging away.

The typical hash rate on the iPhone is about 0.4 KH ... is that too small to register on your pool?  Worked fine with the Litecoin pool I was using.

I have 5 users:

laptop 1 - 36 KH
laptop 2 - 14 KH
iPod - 0.30 kH
iPhone - 0.40 kH
iPad - 0.40 kH

The last three are showing as Not active and 0 khash ...

Issue 2:  One of my laptop Hash rates popped into my Ipod user slot incorrectly at one point.
Issue 3:  One of the laptops went from "Y" to "N" on active even though it was still chugging away.

hashrates on the pool are calculated as average over 15 minutes base on number of shares submitted. at under 1 kh/s, you will not submit many shares at all, so if in the past 15 minutes you submitted 0-1 shares, it might show up as 0kh/s. Payout is based on number of shares submitted.

Anyone having issues with payouts and this site? Automatic payout hasn't gone through still and I'm way over the set threshold.  Huh

It is working. Occasionally someone enters some gibberish that gets past my auto-detection. This is generally cleared out 2 times a day.

Fixed a small issue that caused a few auto-payouts to be delayed by several hours.

All issues mentioned above have been fixed for a while via pm, I just neglected to post the resolution.

So cgminer shows
Code:
GPU 0:                | 142.1K/131.1Kh/s | A:0 R:0 HW:167 WU:124.7/m I:20

But even after more than 15 minutes, the website shows that worker is only doing 9KH/s. Is there a problem on my end?

Also, I've noticed after leaving it on for several hours it almost always shows feathercoin.is-a-geek.com is unreachable. When I've noticed this, I usually quit and restart cgminer. Is that necessary, or will it resume automatically?

I havent noticed any issues with connectivity on my miners... first thing i would check is the HW errors, 167 seems very high.

It's a scam
No I don't think so.
Joined this pool last night and just did a manual payout earlier today and it does work. Took it about 10min for payment to arive and get confirmed.
Please give this guy (?) a break since it's a nice little pool he's running and I don't think he's a scammer.
Happy mining and happy holidays everyone.

The withdraw function for this pool "appears" to be working again. But the host of the site went missing for quite some time. It took almost a month to withdraw my coins. I would exercise caution when using this pool

My account for over a two or three weeks now:

Paid Shares [All submitted shares from previous rounds which are already accounted and paid for.]
Your Valid: 2991
Invalid: 8

Account Balance
0 FTC

I did the work and expect to be paid. The pool owner has not even replied to my personal message from the last issue, which I fixed myself.

I have stopped mining and give the advice to never mine feathercoin.is-a-geek.com. You might not get paid.
