Since there is a topic for newbies to introduce themselves I think Goodbye topic is also appropiate.
I'll be happy to start. Smiley

Farewell all newbies and i'll be looking forward to meeting you in main forums. For me it took 3 days to carry out the requirements and get there.

The 4 hour requirement is pretty hard. I'm still a long way from it. Will probably take me a few more days.

IT seems like is going to be hard to take the newbie word off the system for me.

I'm actually doing a research with some of my friend to see the options that BTC can have for my profession.
I'm a Diamond Grader and I'm sick of paying transfers fees and as a free lancer is just a nightmare.
Looking forward to to see brilliant ideas in my field !!!
 Cool Cool

It's not too hard to go through that 4 hour requirement. I suggest just reading through a lost of posts and your time will disappear before you know it.

Getting to the 4 hours is far more than just logging in and leaving the machine on the forum page.

I'm entirely sure how the counter works, but it is definitely not that!

Yeah, that's why I said go read through the posts. If you are reading it counts as active logged in time.

If you have a legitimate interest in the community, 4 hours will fly by like it's nothing. And that 4 hours is a good way to catch up on what everybody is thinking and saying so that you are updated to the general opinion before you hop into the primary area of the forums. Part of what the restriction is for - community integration.

If you want to profit, I don't think now is the time. Not that I know if there will be a time ever again where a small farm of FPGA's can ever compete with the rising difficulty level.

I did an analysis based off of my projections for an investment I was going to make into 55 Ztex boards. You can see it here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178051.msg1910302#msg1910302.

However if you want to have some fun with it, learn. Go ahead, they're great boards (I suggest buying the PCB from them and buying the parts and building it yourself. It can save you a heap of money).

Bye

If you don't want to be here. Well...nobody is stopping you. Smiley

too true.  I just wish that instead of only reading this past week I'd actually had the brains to sign up first...didn't know of these newbie restrictions from reading in the main forum area :/

That's good. Not only will you learn alot about whatever you're trying to figure out, but other people's problems, perspectives and all things bitcoin related. It's worth it.

Your four hours goes by a lot quicker when you've checked "Stay Signed In" in your profile.

I was reading posts for about two hours last light and gained 15 mins.  After checking it, the total time increased increased in real time.  Passing my four hour mark with this post.

Funny thing is, I've been a lurker for about a year, just never created an account (privacy freak, I know, I'm getting better).  I'd say my real total time is upwards of 300 hrs.
