Terracoin isn't doing so hot.  But that doesn't mean you should discredit all altcoins.  Look at it this way: why would we need Burger King, Wendy's, Jack in the Crack, or Chik-fil-a if we already have McDonalds?  Well, it's nice to have a variety

I think we need a new digital coin. Now is the time. Should be scrypt. ASIC has imposed the need. We GPU miners should use our graphics cards. Slowly but surely ASIC put us out of our GPU miners.
