Hey guys, i made my own node and started mining. But i cant figure out how to set the diff for the ant s4. i tried puting worker.1+2054  but the diff stays at 1000. Should i change the diff for the s4 or should i leave it? btw i have the newest firmware from bitmain

i believe what you;ve set is the "+" which is known as pseudo diff, max is 998.99xxxxxxxx, you can only set lower than max 998.999xxxxxxx so for a s4 or miners that is above 1ths, there's no need for it except for smaller miners like s3 where you will set +512 or any other value.

you might want to set queue to 0 or 1 by ssh'ing in.

welcome to p2pool & happy mining.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I must say, But I do love P2pool, but that is hoop proof.. NOT!!!!
You can see when users bail out and when there back in when there ready to block. I wish this was more hoop proof as they say. Im out.

You can't jump in and out of p2pool... There's no gain in it because you lose shares.  Also I'd like you to explain how anyone can predict when the pool is going to hit a block.  So much fail in your post...

I'm not sure what you're referring to?  Like every pool, p2pool is always "ready to block".  Any share care be a block.

Hopper safe means, yes, you can hop in and just happen to be there right before a block ... but you'll also get a smidgen of what you'd get if you were here all along.

Its PPLNS so it is hoop proof. They need to stay little bit more to earn the max.

It take 24 hours to loose shares. I already did a test. Try your self.  Also wile someone else is working his ass off for the pool, some other sucker gets paid. NO WAY, Im out.

That is not how PPLNS works. Yes, you may get lucky and get a share right off the bat, but that is just one share in a long chain. After over a year of testing, I feel comfortable saying, if you stick with it, p2pool is the best pool out there.

Our luck changes like the tides, but if your not in it you do not benefit.

The best (and only) way to mine with p2pool is to go for the long haul.

I can attest, as can many other long timers here, that it is more profitable to stick around then hop around...

You're misunderstanding how p2pool works.

Back up and running, sorry for any inconvenience.

Looks like it died just as we headed for the plane, go figure....

Not 100% sure what happened, but will examine the logs when back in the office.

Cheers!

To put it simply. P2Pool is somewhat like solo mining albeit in a small scale. Finding a share on P2Pool is like finding a block. So.... why would you want to hop and risk finding a "block" ?

So I thought I'd give p2pool a little bit of help finding a block...

WRONG ! statement, not a block, FEW blocks. GL mate.

i'm also doing my part here: *not much but at least something*

Local: 59434GH/s in last 10.0 minutes Local dead on arrival: ~2.8% (2-4%) Expected time to share: 14.5 minutes
 Shares: 234 (21 orphan, 5 dead) Stale rate: ~11.1% (7-16%) Efficiency: ~105.9% (100-110%)
*supposed to have more shares but was away @ nh for couple of hours*

now where's the block Huh

LOL... yes, a few blocks would be most welcome.  If we hit a few blocks in the next 4 hours, I'll be sending a nice donation to p2pool Smiley.

Just rented some more. Hope we find a block soon.
