Seems like the LP's is affecting p2pool aswell, pretty sure those dips come at new block LP's.

http://forre.st:9332/static/ => 11% stales, that's pretty high isn't it?

Anyway can I connect to P2pool using BAMT? Anybody done it yet?

Yes you can.  But I would HIGHLY recommend not trying to run p2pool or bitcoind on the BAMT rig.  You should set up a separate server to run them on, then point your BAMT rig to the p2pool server there.

Those are P2Pool stales, which don't directly affect block finding.

Hello all, thanks forrestv i think P2Pool is fantastic.

I am a real noob  Grin and not very clever setting up technical stuff.

3 days ago i setup GUminer and Bitcoin and P2Pool and had it all running, GUminer said i was running at 61Mhash
and P2Pool was working really well and when i looked at P2Pool's stats i was getting about 57Mhash.

2 nights ago i upgraded to the newer version and now on the stats page my Hash rate is listed as only 7 yet GUminer still says 61.

I have a screen shot of my setup, can anyone throw some light on what i am doing wrong.

EDIT now my stats do not even show me as active.
Thx
Peter

PS excuse the label on guminer says p2pmining but i forgot to change it to p2pool.
I have a 300Mhash card on order  Grin

p2pool uses a 10 min average to guesstimate your hashrate; at your speed, you should expect wild swings in the p2pool output/stats page. That is normal and can be ignored.

Can you give a screenshot of the stats page? If you look at the P2Pool console, it says that you have 43MH/s running. (The number after "Local:")

I have stopped running it now as i was getting no stats or rewards.
When i checked the stats page when i took that screen shot it listed me as 7MHash which was different to the 43 it was saying, it gradually went to zero hash and dissapeared off the stats page altogether.

I will try rerunning it and take shots of all screens again after 10 minuets

I had that happen yesterday and it was disk I/O related. I was using tar to temporarily archive a bunch of ISO image files and I had that issue.

So for me it was an issue with bitcoind and disk I/O. When I was done archiving the data, the messages went away.

OK i think i understand whats happened here, the payout is not going to my wallet address, that would explain why it tailed off after the version update gradually to low hash rate and then dissapeared from the stats page.

So does P2Pool take the wallet address from guiminer username field.

The address that you use as your miner username takes the highest priority, yeah. You can also specify a payout address with the -a flag when running p2pool. That address would be used if you specify a different miner username (such as "user") or if you have a fee set up on your node.
