Will Dogecoin have a future?

Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous).

Nevertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

The original developer is long gone, he sold all his coins and left the project for good.

Dogecoin is an inflationary coin. While it may have a stable price and be very useful in micro-transaction, it is unlikely to attract speculative investors. So the price is not likely to take off.

even most people has liked doge but if the price has decrease year by year i think there is no future for this coin and as usual people will more likely choose altcoins which is have potential to grow for the price or big pump and doge don't have it and looks like it will stuck forever so i assume in the next few years doge will change became an dead coin

Dogecoin is not the future, but it is very useful to use, buy goods, or gambling with dogecoin. Usage of dogecoin is widespread and quite popular coin.

For more than 3 years I know about Bitcoin, Dogecoin is keep on 10-100 satoshi phase and never pass it yet.
There are a speculation Dogecoin had been dead for a long time ago because that price, regardless of the market cap.

Dogecoin has a large market cap due to it it cannot cross the high mark price and can only roam around to lower price until their is not a big news or anyone opting to take over dogecoin and develops it.

I have thought about a hard fork of Dogecoin to a new mining schedule. While Dogecoin is fun for playing around with and to about cryptocurrency, nobody wants to invest in a coin that will indefinitely grow by over 5 billion coins each year.

Wolfcoin is dead, so we could coop that name with a new mining schedule that cuts coin production in half every year.

As long as it works fine, it doesn't need "innovation". Don't get fooled by the "we need innovation"-hype.

SegWit is only needed to work around the small blocks in Bitcoin. Doge is much faster, and making a transaction is about 25,000 times cheaper than Bitcoin. There is absolutely no need for the hassle of SegWit.

I've always liked Doge for this. It's quite stable in dollar, the Bitcoin-value varies wildly caused by the fluctuations in Bitcoin's own value.

It's designed for inflation, but that might also be what keeps fees low.

I also one of the doge fans, it is one of the crypto currency that I don't need to count the 0 when I want to used, but the price and growth is not really good and the price has been falling down so low, there is some positive rising for this few week but still not enough to crank up the popularity

I think to raise the popularity and the exchange rate is more stable course dogecoin developers need the right innovation for the advancement of the coin, in order to further develop as a big cryptocurrency coin and always relatively stable
