You can compile a linux wallet from sources. It works ok for me, though i've had some problems compiling and running it. If you have questions - i'll be glad to help.

I think the right thing is that as long as the campaign lasts, everyone taking part should publish the twitter account so that each member of the community can do a check.

Linux distros use different shared libraries and that's why it is better everyone to compile his own wallet from source.
However i have compiled linux binary for solariscoin you need to install the shared libraries to run the wallet.

Builted on Suse Leap 42.2 64-bit.

I am not a programmer i just do my hobby but i will try to explain what happening.

When boost is compiled without C++11 support and you try to  compile a project with C++11 support you end up with the error

undefined reference to `boost::filesystem::detail::copy_file

that depend on the Boost version you using.
