Theoretically you are correct but masternodes are only one piece of the puzzle. We need to create massive demand for XLR besides getting enough coins for a masternode. Then the price will shoot up!
These are some nice nice, and true words.
What I want to hear the most is the idea; the action to be executed.
What exactly has to be done to create that massive.
Join telegram or slack and share your ideas with Dev or maybe me.
Not vague ideas but rather specific ones

Hey all, I made a Newbie friendly guide to setting up your Masternode on VPS. It also includes some details on how to run 2 or more masternodes from the same wallet.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Z3h_qA7N3-KMA1ECxyfDbBO-_lG7Hkrp_8Iy0s2iUMI/edit?usp=sharing

That's a really nice and well composed guide Andy.
It's impressive.  It'll sure help a lot of newbies and even some pros too.

Just one little recommendation though.
Like you said every MN requires a unique IP.
A unique IP can be bought once and its permanently yours unlike a VPS that has to be renewed every month.
Hence its a lot more economical to simply buy an additional IP for your second masternode than to buy another VPS.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Thank you for the kind words Schyter! I think we have covered a lot of ground with your and my guide for masternodes. You are absolutely correct that buying a secondary IP for the VPS is much better value, I will look into updating the guide with setting up the second MN on the same VPS instance.

6x within 6 or so weeks. I assume nobody here is really complaining about the way Solaris is going Smiley

Yes Solaris is growing nicely and hopefully soon it will grow even bigger with more people buying and locking in a masternode which will make less Solaris on exchanges and in turn make the price go even higher. Now with around 41% of the circulating supply locked into masternodes there isn't much coins out there so it should make the price go up in the near future. Just think no many people even know about this coin so once more marketing is done this could explode overnight. There is so much potential here and now is a great time to get involved because it is still cheap to run a masternode compared to other masternode coins out there.

Theoretically you are correct but masternodes are only one piece of the puzzle. We need to create massive demand for XLR besides getting enough coins for a masternode. Then the price will shoot up!
More updating features will be released by developers soon. They are working hard and fighting with codes in their coding-caves.

After 6th Dec 2017, #Solaris (nist5 network) will no longer be supported.
The number of $XLR mined daily into circulating supply will drop  drastically from 5,657  to 2,888 #XLR  hence reducing inflation rate by 50%.
This will most probably drive the price higher.
According to @SolarisCoin https://twitter.com/SolarisCoin/status/930178004600451072.

Wow, it looks great. When the time of halving comes (of course you can check those points on the main thread of the announcement), the price might experience significant rise. Good luck.

Is it still as profitable to mine XLR as it is to mine Eth?  Can we still mine the old algo and convert to the new?

Depends on the card you mine with, A 1080 or 1080ti you are better off mining XLR  over Eth (although there are more profitable coins). You can still mine the old algo and convert to the new one (can swap until 6th Dec).

edit* I'm not saying it's just a 1080 or 1080ti that you are better off mining XLR but these are the only cards I have so know for sure they are.

No, this is not a token. It's a crypto currency based on Dash and PIVX, with lots of nice features!
