Ethereum is starting to be adopted quicker than you'd think, AlphaBay a darkmarket is adding Ethereum as a payment method because bitcoin can't fulfill that role any longer  Embarrassed. ETH also has Ethereum Enterprise Alliance, which is basically an alliance of companies that are working together to see how they can use ethereum for their companies... It's unfortunate how a lot of bitcoiners refuse to realise that alts are catching up to bitcoin quick.  Cry
Keep making yourself believe into something because you have taken certain positions at current extremely inflated prices. ETH isn't that special at all for dark net markets as AlphaBay has also implemented Monero a while ago. Other than that, I wouldn't find it that big of a problem if certain altcoins "take over" Bitcoin's position in dark net markets. It would mean that the mainstream media channels have less negativity to throw around with regarding Bitcoin.
I've been in Ethereum for a long time, not just since the recent price rises Smiley. Adoption of cryptocurrencies begin with dark markets and then move on to mainstream, just like Bitcoin did. And now it's happening to altcoins because Bitcoin is becoming useless... But seriously do some research into altcoins for yourself, and don't just take someone's word for it and make yourself think that all alts are useless p&d shitcoins  Tongue

Any idea hy bitcoin is dropping so fast? Last night i was expecting it to go back up a little so i could take some money out of it and put it in ETH, but now i'd sell with a significant loss. What made it drop?
No,bitcoin has once again started to recover. Its price is around $1046 now.Whoever left bitcoin and ran towards altcoins, their time has started to return and the count down starts now...1,2,3..

I do follow altcoins to stay up to date with everything, but you can't ignore the fact that the far majority of the Ether coins are in control of just a few people. Same goes up for Dash. In that regard, it doesn't surprise me a single bit that they have been pumped badly in the last days. Other than that, what makes you write off Bitcoin as being useless? Just because Bitcoin doesn't serve people well as currency tool? If that's your reasoning, then how did it become useless? Bitcoin hasn't been any different...

i see this too in the market but i think its too slow to see the price is recovering for the last high price. i think we need more time to see the price is getting up like before. and i think its still worth to wait the other jump price and while we wait, we can do another thing like trading bitcoin pair altcoin.

It is obvious that funds were replaced from bitcoin into eth and dash I think people are realizing that they can use other alternatives to bitcoin as well and they have somewhat the same potentials.

It may very well be that certain people shifted their priorities temporarily to trading altcoins due to their heavy fluctuations, but that's nothing new. ETH and Dash are being pumped with money from very wealthy individuals that hold the far majority of the circulating coins/tokens in their portfolio. Do you seriously think that the extreme pumps that altcoins experience is coming from legit demand? If the people behind these massive pumps didn't had the majority of the circulating coins, then they wouldn't have any incentive to pump the price. ETH and Dash don't enjoy any sort of real world usage. They purely function as speculative investment options for with greed filled people. MLM was also mentioned to play an important role, but I can't verify how far their importance is when it comes to these pumps.

Eth has a long way to go mate and i am sure the path and the obstacles which bitcoin has over come in the past can be sustained by other altcoins like ETH and it's just temporarily pump for ETH there might be chances that ETH will gain more value but it does not mean that bitcoin will lose it's value as these are the words of people who cannot invest into bitcoin due to the high price of bitcoin so they have invested into ETH and wants to justify it i am sure if you go back to other threads there were rumors that bitcoin will go back to $600 but bitcoin has almost gained it's price which it was last week.

You should get used to it and more might come with big waves.
Too much news about negativity of bitcoin is spreading specially about the transaction time and the transaction fees.
This will be a hard year for bitcoin. Now it is getting more attention at the time it hit $1200 mark.
There is the ETF thing also which users thought is the real reason. Made them panic.

There is nothing to elaborate about. It's pure FUD backed by no arguments. Last time I checked altcoins still were used as pump and dump toys for speculators.
While bitcoin was actually used by people and accepted by businesses. True, that we have problems with scaling, but nothing is permanent. There won't be split.
Take advantage of this situation to buy cheap coins while you still can, when will be through scaling upgrade BTC price will soar again.

Yes this is the time for those newbie who was literally hypnotized by the panic created by some elements that bitcoin will fall to come back to bitcoin as it has stated pumping up again.

That's how the manipulators trick people. They create some sort of panic and end up selling their coins at a high price then when the prices are really low they will buy back everything. In the end people who fall for this chaotic manipulation are the ones who lose. They sell at a low price then buy back at higher prices.

Yeah noticed that price is moving up again and its stands near to 1050$ now. People new to bitcoin might sold their bitcoin but the people being here in the forum for more than  2 years will know that bitcoin price so volatile always and they will plan in accordingly. Traders are only people getting so affected because of this price change

Yes even i had personally advised many of them not to sell bitcoin as they will end up regretting but some of them had that ETH fever on their mind and sold bitcoin for lesser price and now regretting for it.

Past few days eth has been moving with enormous growth percentage when bitcoin was falling. Though people were aware about the fluctuating nature of bitcoin they get into the trading of eth to bitcoin expecting huge profit. Experts predict eth to be worse than bitcoin as they were not stable and the growth has happened high in a very short time span causing a capital increase and users.

True. I was so confident in the past few weeks that I was constantly moving back and forth between fiat and btc -something I usually don't do- and substantially increased my stash of bitcoins. Thanks everyone who make their contribution, even if unwillingly Smiley

yes, bitcoin has started to recover again but keep one thing in mind still it is not constant so best option will be to wait for some more time then if you see the price is going down you can buy btc or sell btc if the price is getting high. bitcoin is not at all dropping like stone for sure.

yes, bitcoin started again to increase, just don't take the immediate steps of selling when you see the price is going down. now again today the price has increased. just hold the money for sometime you will see the price again will go high.
