Yeah that's a hell of a risk because basically you have bought "nothing" so eBay Buyer protection may not cover it....
Plus you have to rely on the honesty of the seller to send you your rig once he gets it...and since it may be months from now even PayPal will not hold the money that long.
I asked a couple of them if they would defer payment until they actually get it in their hands and then allow me to pay them and they said no...
Now...I know you always want the money now...but if the "handshake" is done (i.e. you win the auction) you are bound to pay for it...so as the seller they are asking you to trust them with your cash but are not willing to trust you that you will actually send them the money once the rig is actually in the seller's own hands...
Definitely does not pass the smell test.

Some of them want to be paid in BTC which is even more sketchy. Although in that case using an escrow service seems like it's be reasonable.

I just report all ebay items as fraud. They have already confirmed that all those listings are fraudulent.
That is not an "allowed" sale-item, since there is nothing being sold. Report every one you see, so it stops fueling the "scam" fire.
I think I saw ONE honest listing related to an ASIC, and even that was, "questionable", but seemed legitimate, for the most-part. (Not worthy of a second look, because he was more greedy than those listings. lol.)

1- people need to learn from their mistakes
2- as long as people buy fake ASICs they dont buy the real ones and dont increase the difficulty ...

Nobody deserves to get scammed, some people could be sending them everything they have in hopes of receiving a unit to earn their money back. Getting scammed is horrible, the loss of money and knowing someone took you for a ride. |

Should be interesting to see how the ASIC miners affect things in the upcoming weeks. Even if they DON'T ship it'll affect the market imho.

GPU miners switching from Bitcoin to Litecoin have already made the difficulty to soar from 18 in the beginning of March to 375 now. Litecoin CPU mining is nearly over.
