I've downloaded Bitcoin and I am very unhappy, because I can't run OR compile it. When I running, I get
Code:
bitcoin-0.3.23/bin/32> bitcoin
bitcoin: symbol lookup error: bitcoin: undefined symbol: gtk_widget_get_realized

and when I compiling, I get lots of errors related to wxWidgets (and YES, I have devels, anyway errors aren't related to missing files (example error: util.cpp:866:41: error: conversion from ‘const wxChar*’ to non-scalar type ‘std::string’ requested)).

I have openSuSE 11.3 and want to start mining as fast as I can.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

You don't need the client to start mining, sign up for a pool and your funds will be in there.

Also, moved to tech help.

If you can't get the client working, try https://www.instawallet.org/
