There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

I'm very bullish on PIVX, Ethereum, and NEM, and I think ZCash will develop well too.

As far as obscure ICOs go, Ethereum has a decentralized casino launching next week (March 31) called Etheroll (DICE token) that I think will do very well and simultaneously contribute to ETH scaling further.

There's a few more I have my eye on now, but haven't dug deep enough to feel I've done my due diligence to pursue or discuss.

Helium for me is the next big thing it's based on dash, with masternodes and anonymity and decentralized exchange which dash lack, ico will never be the next big thing without a pow phase, in fact ethereum withotu pow would have been a shit coin that none would take in consideration, btw Helium is the old spreadcoin after the swap will take effect in case you don't know

let's talk about!
Are altcoin community really care about new and useful features? It sure is unexpected.
Because from what I see, so far it is more like crowd is always picking coins which promise the highest ROI.
Nothing else matters.

IMO there's no room for real ROI withOUT new and useful features.  Find the ones with new and useful features and big ROI follows.

In the list you have proposed, I see none to become the true next big thing. Big things like Ethereum, The DAO or Waves.

Not going to choose anything on the list as there are others I am interested in, WBB is a long time coming and soon it will release it's new ANN, Bitbay is a possibility although not totally sure but for me WBB is my pick.

Well, some are traders and so they buy and sell coins regularly. Others are looking for some long-term investments. And these people want to know whether this or that coin is likely to become famous and be stable in, say, a year from now.
Another thing people care about is the wallet, of course. If the wallet is hard to use, the coin is hard to trade (inconvenient).
So, I guess people do care about useful features here.
I voted for byteball, because at least it is very popular, expensive and stable now + smart contracts can be performed easily with it.

Yes, this.

IOTA offers: zero fees, no miners, massive scalablity, nano payments, confirmation in seconds (as network grows), it is quantum secure...

The network literally works faster the more it is used, unlike any other crypto.

What altcoin has features that can even compare?

I know people are skeptical but I'm absolutely convinced the next few years will see a massive growth in the area of loyalty points using Crypto. It's in every online company from UBER to Nike to have smooth running loyalty programs that get customers on boarded. It's not a known fact but the biggest headache of companies loyalty programs is they can't budget for them cause they simply don't know who will use points given. Most programs are a loss making process but must be done to courst users and develop brand loyalty. That's even bigger when shopping online. So these companies are more than happy to connect to like minded demographics and products. This is where crypto is set to revolutionize.

Kids will be buying shit on snapchat, receiving points they can use to buy another similar product or swap and use them for something else.

And the only company in this space is Loyyal and the only way grubby crypto traders can get their hands on what Loyyal are doing is through Coval.

Byteball is better, no miners, massive scale, nano payments, finality and not just probability of confirmed payment. Does not require a Proof-of-Work, unlike IOTA which is a waste since IoT device can generally hardly do work at all, some struggle with making even https connections, so requiring an IoT device to do PoW is retarded to say the the least. While with Byteball an IoT device can be a full member of the network like any other light wallet, and if it can make https it can perform signatures to send and receive all functionality of Byteball.

Also, it works faster the more it is used, an idea which a IOTA developer cannot actually comprehend.

Ethereum is by far the next big thing. All important eyes are on it and work on it. Take your time and read it's reddit for 30minutes+, and take another 30mins and read any other platform's reddit. You'll be overwhelmed by ethereum. Every other platform will seem like a joke.
I also invested in lisk, waves, and few others i don't even remember now. But i think they are all behind and clearly less competent.

And the only company in this space is Loyyal and the only way grubby crypto traders can get their hands on what Loyyal are doing is through Coval.

http://loyyal.com
but http://loyyal.com is under ico??
or is it already a coin with a main net running and working?

But who will be the real next "BIG THING" in the future round the corner??
Bitcoin. If you still count that as a cryptocurrency. As long as the altcoin world is concerned, there is no such big thing ever happening because a great idea born today gets copied with additional features the next day.The market is too saturated for the next big thing to sustain the competition.

Who, will be capable to introduce new real and useful features???
Every feature is new and useful.Just that people don't care about all that as long as they have trading sustainable trading value.

i need to quote this!
i remeber BURST coin!
this coin have a lot of features...
Asset Exchange...
Automated transactions (Smart Contracts)...
Crowdfunding...
Escrow service...
Marketplace...
and last but not least, it consume really low energy to maintain network...
but BURST still undervalued...
