The only contenders are coins with a new techno, at least.
I see only 4 : Iota, Byteballl, Raiblocks, and perhaps skycoin.
I don’t think so. I think a known version would be much better. Couple of things needed to create a coin that would skyrocket to the top VERY quickly.
Fristly it should be by someone who liked by almost everyone, Erik Vorhees (the old owner of satoshidice, founder of shapeshift) would be a good example, everyone likes him.
Than we need to have little to preferably no pre-mine needed. That way miners can get what they want. Than we need marketing paid from the pocket of the known person or developer team, as huge as chronobanks marketing.
Than we need to make it like mine it with anything type of deal, no asic or anything accepted, you can mine with your laptop if you want.
Than we need the ICO to end quicker than months of waiting.
Than we need to be on all exchanges and keep the price not going down at the beginning, (people might start selling early days) if all of these happens at the same time, you can create a bitcoin copy all I care and I would definetly be interested, everyone would be. So, no need to create a new tech to stand out.
