I've spent that past 5 hours trying to get Opencl to work on a 5870 card I recently aquired, with no luck
Despite uninstalling, reinstalling, driver wiping and installing a different version of the ati drivers, as well as installing the standalone open cl installer, I still have no opencl.

I tested everything on an 8800gts before so I know opencl should work on XP SP2?

I have an old partition of XP SP2 and also failed to get opencl to work there. I am presented with the "entry point not found" error.

I haven't been able to find any resolution through searching.

Thanks

I had significant difficulty getting OpenCL drivers to work with Win7 and my setup without having tearing issues upon boot up.  It finally worked with Catalyst version 11.1, after about 20 hours of tinkering.  Was it worth the effort?  Maybe, maybe not.  I certainly did learn quite a bit through the process, and I'm genning .70 BTCs per day at this point.

Are you installing the entire Catalyst package?  If so, what version of the software?  Other than XP, what OS are you attempting?

Is this the only GFX card in your build?  If not, what other card(s) are you using?  What mining client are you using?

Are you using the latest drivers? I'd recommend trying the latest drivers from ATI for your video card first.

Thanks for the reply, I have tried the express install and custom leaving everything ticked. I have tried the latest, 11.6 and 11.4 packages so far. Both OS's were XP SP2. This is the only GFX card at the moment but I have two more arriving soon.

I am using the standard poclbm miner with a bat file I used for when I had the 8800GTS.

It just seems to be acting as if OpenCL has not even been installed despite that it is included in the latest catalyst suites and I have installed it manually from the developers pack AND standalone opencl pack also.

Thanks
