ho appena scaricato l'applicazione di Opera VPN che ho trovato sullo store.
qualcuno ha recensioni sulla sicurezza di questa VPN? qualcuna l'ha usata e ha riscontrato problemi?
potrebbe essere una buona alternativa ad alcune VPN a pagamento?

Dipende cosa vuoi ottenere. Se vuoi navigare "in anonimo" allora può essere una buona alternativa a tor.
Se vuoi avviare ed utilizzare un VPS penso che sia la strada sbagliata.
