Eh.  You might be right, but I think this rise in prices we're seeing in altcoins right now is a bubble, and I think in two years the bubble will have burst, and WAVES and all the other ones will probably be at their ICO prices or lower.  Just like Dash and any other one that's currently inflated past all logic.

You watch when interest rates start rising again, when the cheap money dries up and assets start to deflate.  Altcoins (and maybe bitcoin, too) are going to get whacked.  Big time.

Well, to compare Dash and Waves seems far fetched, Roger Ver might have been inflating Dash and its on Polo. Waves isnt, and coins on Polo are more often victimezed by PnD.
Waves has had a lot of dev news and extended use cases, so the growth on Waves seems more organic imho.
Btc is in some kind of bubble regarding the exchanges mess, once it deflates a little, alts surely will rise. I think Waves will rise also. It has shown some strength while Btc pumped.

Let me tell you something that maybe you have not noticed yet. Waves is aimed mostly to fund projects, and it is much easier to fund them with Waves than with any other coin. The more ico's run on the platform, the more is the amount of Waves that will be locked into investments. This means that there will be less waves on the market to be traded on Dex or even on exchanges as these projects consume their funds in a long term schedule. Take as of an example the Encrypto Tel Ico, those guys funded almost 1 million waves already into only one project and it has just started. Of course this is only 1% of the total amount of Waves, but it a respectable amount for only one project. I did not even mention the others that have already launched on the platform and those projects that are about to come. I think people are not clearly seeing the potential here...like a restyled DEX beautiful layout, smart contracts, more fiat gateways that are about to come, lending proof of stake available on liteclient soon (which make people keep their waves to get more coins without risking them as the leasing goes in one transaction but does not leave your wallet so you can cancel it any time you want). There is also the tokens that are distributed to investors like the WCT token (waves community token), wavesgo token, mrt tokens for miners, etc. Only WCT tokens added at least 2 million dollars to the platform itself, if you dont believe it just look at the coinmarketcap website. All this creates a tight community on the waves platform.

The big minus for waves is their token creation feature since it allows people to create their tokens for just single click around and i think this kind of thing makes waves untrusted since many people has been caught and been scam by so many waves contract coin around here.

Actually, the ease of token creation is a feature. I share your opinion regarding the spamtoken creations,  but this will change in future.  For instance, a spam button to mark spamtokens as unwanted.
For now, it is cheap to create a token. If waves reaches $10 it is becoming less cheap hehe.
I think WCT will fill this heap in coming years, it is a voting mechanism, I think also for future tokens...

leasing makes sense if you have enough waves. You are given a choice of a node, to whom you can give a leasing coin. You can not give them to any address.
Risks are always there, but in terms of leasing it is indicated that you can at any time stop the leasing. At me in leasing of 65 coins, they bring in a month about 0,0004 waves)) in some days

1. Don't think it's risky to lease as long you are holding your seed code secure, better to make a few back-ups and don't store them on your pc.

2. You can only lease your waves out to an Node.

It's not really risky, becouse the waves actually never leave your wallet. You lease them to a node and you will be able to cancell at any point u want. Of course, as with every wallet, make sure to keep your seed safe.

Yeah you are right, IMO it's hype and marketing. Just look at tron for example, less than a month ago it was at almost 19 billion MC and now at 4 billion MC. But the quality of a project isn't only measured by the price. Right now it's all speculation, when it comes to real world usage in the mainstream, thats the time Waves will win recognition.
Maybe I am wrong, but I am pretty confident and only time will tell.

The team managed it to inplant the important things first. They archieved in december to implent waves ng first and that is a good fundamental to build further. Now they are building smart contracts and when that's ready we don't have to be afraid of an slow network with higher fees.
Everybody saw that happen on the eth chain with cryptokitties. Waves is possible to handle every future smart contract and ICO with the high capacity of transactions.

Now it's just matter of time when it shall blast off.
You can dump now and look further for an better investment, I shall keep my waves for the long run because there are enough fundamentals for future growth of waves.

I am a long time Waves supporter but I think we should not read too much into this week's growth. Simply because the entire market has been improving, every alt is making 5-10% and some even more. I have been an investors of this project for a long time and i still have the coin even today, I kept my details still. I was disappointed to the dex and the tidex because there's not much volume to it. If have been hopeful still for this project. The launch was terrible because of yobit listing IOU waves lol the price goes down to $0.15 and that was the time I have bought more of this. I sure have earned well if I dumped mine last year but I have kept it. Now with the smart contract, there must be massive ICO coming.
