Quick question what other motherboards are confirmed to work with 7 gpus, because I keep having problems with the Asus Prime Z270-A.What boards are you using and how many GPUs?

These boards with each work with 7x GPUs if you use an m2 adapter:

https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA2F857B5148

What bios settings have you changed with the Z270-A?

Hey fullzero,

I have encountered an issue when trying to run oneBash:

bash oneBash

Power limit for GPU 0000:01:00.0 was set to 150.00 W from 150.00 W.

All done.

Just made some changes to oneBash to test out if Lyra2v2 can be mined.  It works.

Code:
COIN="LYRA2V2"

Code:
LYRA2V2_WORKER="nvOC"
LYRA2V2_ADDRESS="bitcoin.wallet.address"
LYRA2V2_POOL="stratum+tcp://lyra2v2.mine.zpool.ca:4533"

Implementation section.

Code:
if [ $COIN == "LYRA2V2" ]
then
HCD='/home/m1/SPccminer/ccminer'
ADDR="$LYRA2V2_ADDRESS.$LYRA2V2_WORKER"

until $HCD -a lyra2v2 -o $LYRA2V2_POOL -u $ADDR -p x
   do
   echo "FAILURE; reinit in 5" >&2
   sleep 5
done
fi

  This is currently working with the SPccminer within the nvOC.  Although I hope to see CCminer2.0 implemented soon.  Or is there a way to insert our own miner software such as Alexis78?

I will add this "LYRA" config to the next version.

Alexis78 is on v0015; to use it instead of the SP fork, replace this line:

Code:
HCD='/home/m1/SPccminer/ccminer'

with:

Code:
HCD='/home/m1/ASccminer/ccminer'

to use the tpruvot fork change it to:

Code:
HCD='/home/m1/TPccminer/ccminer'

You can also add any client you want yourself.

If you send me a link to any desired client I will add it for the next version.

Also include what pool and coin you plan on mining with the client.

I appreciate your quick response.  I have tried to get the latest TP miner from git hub, and compile.  However I am getting errors, with regards to bignum.cpp and bignum.h.  If you would be so kind, please include the latest Alexis78 and TPminer in the next build, to use with Yiimp pool or Zpool.

I have both ubuntu 17 and nvOC (from USB) on the desktop.

This command: nvidia-smi -q -d CLOCK

Gave around 1800 MHZ while on Ubuntu but on nvOC it gave 119 MHZ?  GPU2 shows 19 MHZ !!!

IS this the display bug i heard about? - where it was incorrectly showing the MHZ?

Also:  Since i have ubuntu17 partition on the SSD, how do I get the nvOC patitioned on there too?  - so that i can unplug the extremely fast 32-gig USB i used to boot nvOC? Thanks all <--- PS major newb here

fullzero,

Is there a way to adjust the dual mining within the claymore?

As if I activate dual mining I loos about 5 MH/s in this mode, when normally I can adjust it via the -dcri when using Claymore on its own. I didn't see anything but could have overlooked it within the Onebash.

It'll be in the onebash file and you might have to add it on the line for claymore

xleejohnx is right, on whatever dual coin you are mining; go to the bottom of oneBash and look for the corresponding block of code.

for example if I was looking for DUAL_ETH_SC I would find the block:

Code:
if [ $COIN == "DUAL_ETH_SC" ]
then
HCD='/home/m1/9.0/ethdcrminer64'
ETHADDR="$ETH_ADDRESS/$ETH_WORKER"

if [ $ETHERMINEdotORG == "YES" ]
then
ETHADDR="$ETH_ADDRESS.$ETH_WORKER"
fi

SCADDR="$SC_ADDRESS/$SC_WORKER"
until $HCD -epool $ETH_POOL -ewal $ETHADDR -epsw x -allpools 1 -dpool $SC_POOL -dwal $SCADDR -dpsw x -dcoin sc -dcri 70
   do
   echo "FAILURE; reinit in 5" >&2
   sleep 5
done
fi

and find the line:

Code:
until $HCD -epool $ETH_POOL -ewal $ETHADDR -epsw x -allpools 1 -dpool $SC_POOL -dwal $SCADDR -dpsw x -dcoin sc -dcri 70

Then change the number after -dcri as desired.

If the coin you are using doesn't have -dcri  at the end of the line that starts with: until

add it to the end with the desired number

save oneBash

Few days later finally got the time to work on this and got a pretty good balance on my 1070s Here are the numbers and my config for those interested:
30.1mh/s ETH per card
200.4 m/hs SC per card
Watts 115 draw per card
dcri 20
~750 watts from the wall.

thanks

On windows I'm assuming, easy way is this way

Launch command line in administrator status
type "diskpart"
list disk (find the one that is your USB key
select disk # (# is the one you see from the list disk)
clean
Go to computer management it will now show up to format, click on it new simple format.
Profit!

Depends on what you are mining

Eth:
core -50
Mem 1300
Power level 110

ZEC
core 200
Mem 900
Power level 125

Those are my baselines for all my 1070s.

If you plan on dual mining, I have a config for Eth_SC too.

Can you please remember me the command to make the raw image copy with ubuntu ?
Thank you.

I think you are looking for: dd

see

http://wiki.linuxquestions.org/wiki/Dd

However; if you are not very comfortable with linux I would recommend downloading this imaging software xleejohnx told me about:

https://etcher.io/

it is GUI based and easy to use.

I'm not sure if you want to image the ssd with nvOC or install it side by side with vanilla Ubuntu ?

If your looking to install it side by side; this would require manually editing the partitions: which I don't recommend for new linux users.

In regards to smi clock responses; are you using a single GPU?

It be really helpful if you can share those too.

Just build my first nvidia rig, so I have a lot of ground to cover.

Thanks

Should get around 30MH/s per card on ETH and about 200MH/s on SC

30/200 for 115 pl sounds good; I will have to try these settings.

Quick question what other motherboards are confirmed to work with 7 gpus, because I keep having problems with the Asus Prime Z270-A.What boards are you using and how many GPUs?

I have a Z270-A (BIOS v 0906) that runs 7 1070 GPUs without any problems.  OP says you can run 9 on this board if you use the m.2 to PCIE adapters.

I also have a Z270-AR rig.  For anyone considering buying one I can confirm it works with nvOC.  The only difference I can see vs the -A version is the -AR lacks a displayport output and DVI-D output.  Everything else is the same.

It wouldn't hurt to try BIOS update if you haven't already (start with a freshly imaged thumb drive after applying the BIOS update), and re-seat all your GPU/riser connections.  Ensure you only have 2 risers per single SATA/molex cable from PSU (most cables allow 3 devices per cable).  If you still have 1 GPU down at that point I would power down and swap around risers and their associated cables/adapters 1 and a time and rebooting to see if something is faulty.
