April 25 Update:
I've hired someone (Fiverr[dot]com is a beautiful thing) to compile a list of all the 90 Bitcoin meetup groups. I've asked for the following information:
1. Name of the group 2. Location 3. Url 4. Number of members 5. Activity rating 6. Number of people per meet-up event
I'm so short on time these days, decided to pull in additional resources. Once I start getting this information populated, I plan to:
1. Make contact with the Bitcoin meetup organizers 2. Find out if they are discussing alt currencies 3. If the group is big enough, travel to the location and meet their membership (we travel quite a bit on the weekends) 4. Ask to contact their user base about Feathercoin faucets and maybe offer free coins to the group (I'll need to take a look at my reserves)
As promised, progress. Not looking for any type of bounties, just doing my part
** To my critics **
You are right, I don't have the time to spend on projects entirely. This is why I choose to bring in friends and outsource the rest. Grass roots is about organizing, someone willing to step up, execution and having fun in the process.
